Star Wars, from the very first film, has had genocide on a planetary scale. The real problem with the Star Wars TFA death toll was the one-upmanship of the planet killer - we're going to top a WMD which can destroy a world with one that can destroy three worlds at once!!

Star Wars is a hellish universe, though, let's be honest. Every 20 years ago some magic Hitler only on a galaxy-wide scale turns up to tip the worlds into destruction. Any victory, no matter how hard won, seems to be swiftly lost in the face of another, worse menace. Characters are corrupted and turned to evil for, frankly, incoherent and nonsensical reasons

Star Wars is probably a bleaker universe than Warhammer.

Asinine comparison with Man of Steel, though

Some posters here have brought up a good point. The destruction in both movies was a result of villains.

Also, yeah, the earlier Star Wars movies were way more brutal.

This film also came out in 2013, also invoked "9/11 imagery", and to top it off, was written by a 9/11 truther (Roberto Orci).

Everyone seems to forget about the senseless destruction of STID, and how Abrams literally glossed over the destruction and restoration at the end of his film.
Difference is critics like Abrams. They hate Snyder.
