So recruit outside artists and writers for their fresh ideas and novel ways of interpreting the source material and then send them through a course to teach them how to do things in the DC house style? What ever could go wrong with that?

Learning from the past does not inhibit growth in the future. It in fact fosters it as it helps prevent repetition of mistakes. This is a very good idea on DC's part. These writers have been around a long while and they've got a lot of experience to impart that will aid the next generation of writers in developing their own talent.

It's a good way of scouting future talent IMO.

    A LOT!!!

However at least now they are trying to get new blood in. Which is what everyone wanted them to do in the first place.

Maybe this will finally get talent in who can do stuff with Vixen, Static, John Stewart, Ted Kord, Hawkman and others that the current bunch don't care for.

I totally agree, skyvolt2000. If Geoff Johns is bringing in talented writers to DC, it would be really interesting to at least see these writers are willing to write POC characters. If Johns does this, I would admit that it's a smart move.

Bringing in new writers and teaching them to use decompression instead of an act structure will defeat the purpose of this.

True but no one says those guys had to follow that structure OUTSIDE of DC books. This is about getting more names in the pot so we don't hear about editors not knowing at POC or female or LGBT creators.
