I absolutely love that the opening dialogue says "a few weeks ago I became an xman."

I KNOW that to be true, but it's so fascinating to see it in writing because it just solidifies that we are about to see the adventures of the same Scott summers from the original 60s comic, before any of the other things happened to him over our decades of reading him.

He just became an xman, just came forward in time, and is now going to outer space. He is such a newbie, it's cute, and I think it will make the book all that much more enjoyable due to all the potential changes/growth in this basically brand new character.

It's fine, it's the best of both worlds. I enjoy both but for different reasons. Adult Scott has his whole aggro highstakes thing in Uncanny(which is basically a Cyclops solo with Emma & Magik as supporting characters).

I'm excited for this too because the whole socially inept Tyke with his super suave pirate dad and psycho badass skunk step-mother is a fun as fuck dynamic. It's pretty feelgood but not in a ham-fisted way like Aarons cringe bullshit.

I know it's supposed to be a team book but I can't think of a better Cyclops-centric series than that. Any more focus on him and it'd become TOO much.
