    I thought this was dead? Some guy bought the original art for the unfinished cover for #4. Then hunted down the other artist had the patience and money to get them to finish it.

    That cover was for the Image United Interlude. It was sort of a spin-off issue that would show what some of the non-original heroes like Invincible were doing during the events. It wasn't part of the main Image United story. The issue was cancelled which is why that cover wasn't ever completed.

    But from everything I've read (mostly from Erik Larsen, who will occasionally answer questions on this) it doesn't sound like the main story will ever get finished either. Which is too bad, it was a really cool idea to have a sort of artist jam mini series.
