Hey guys, I know this thread is acouple months old, and I just want to say:
Give it a chance.
Scrappy is pretty different. But then again, they all are. I think that despite everything they might be taking the character development route with him, despite him being different. He's not exactly EVIL, not exactly trying to take over the world or destroy Mystery Inc. He hates Scooby, but there might be a rhyme and reason to it, something there. I'm saying this because they're deciding to give Scrappy a chance, guys. A real one. You have to understand that this Scrappy didn't have a very happy life, especially compared with his cartoon counterpart. He was treated as an experiment and lived a good deal of his life in a laboratory. He's a lot more cynical, a bit more grown up. But if Scrappy did have that kind of life, a life without adventures and friends a loving parental figure, then it does make just a bit of sense. And further more, they're testing the waters right now. Scrappy may be making more returns, but we shouldn't turn a blind eye to this one. And, look at it this way: DC and CN are finally making good on their word!
I remember liking Scrabby as a kid, liked Jar-Jar too (kid me had **** tastes) and being really sad when they made him the villain of the movie. Though looking back, I can see why they were so annoying.
Maybe it was different in England, because I and everyone I knew hated Scrappy Doo from the moment he first darkened our screens. I thought it was a stroke of genius when they made him the villain in the film. (Actually I think it was possibly the film's only redeeming feature.)
I'm really surprised to see the support he's getting in this thread.
I'm really surprised to see another thread that had lain dormant for nearly a year (a ghost thread?) making a sudden comeback. I didn't know this was still such a touchy subject for some of us.
I was never a fan of Scrappy in the old cartoon, so him acting like a villain in Apocalypse is perfect for me as it gives me an excuse to hate on him
I think Dee and Dum were liked fine because they were just guests, they never tried to make them the new leads or have them overshadow Scooby, who kids liked fine.
They didn't need a hyped up prating mini version of him.
I do agree however, making him the villain here is pretty lame.
Now Dynomutt! He was a great spin-off character! And with Blue Falcon should be part of the HB Apocalypse Uninverse.
And LOL at this entire necro thread

I like Scrappy-Doo too! Hes just a kid whos wants to be like his uncle, he can totally be redone as a cute puppy who sometimes hangs out with Scooby.
