    Happy 25th Anniversary 616 Sleepwalker!!! - 1991-2016

Sleepwalker is a guardian of the Mindscape, a dimension that borders on the minds of all intelligent life.
Now trapped in the mind of Rick Sheridan. When Rick sleeps, Sleepwalker escapes.

In the Mindscape, a world where strange creatures live that borders on the minds of all intelligent life there is a force of beings that protect the sleeping minds of humans.
For if they were not protected, dangerous beings would enter the minds of sleeping humans.
One of the beings that protects the human minds, what humans call 'Sleepwalker', was tricked by his enemy, Cobweb, into entering the mind of Rick Sheridan.
After confronting Sleepwalker in many of his dreams, Rick tore off Sleepwalker's Imaginator. This caused Sleepwalker and Rick to bond together.
Now, whenever Rick Sheridan goes to sleep, Sleepwalker materializes into reality.
Rick and Sleepwalker have agreed that when Sleepwalker comes out, he fights crime.

Sleepwalker was created by Bob Budiansky and Bret Blevins and first appeared in Sleepwalker issue 1 (1991).
With the publication of Sleepwalker, a long dream of writer Bob Budiansky was finally fulfilled, as he had the plans for Sleepwalker as early as the late 1970's.

The only heroes left to stop him where Speedball, Darkhawk, Dagger, Arana, X-23, Terror, Gravity, and of course Sleepwalker. They had to go into the future where they team up with somebody called Mutant 2099 (I have no idea where that came from) and stop him before he went back in time and killed everybody.

... Which also meant they were stuck in the future because they changed time and there was already a them in the past.

I belive the team was briefly shown again in an issue with Squirrell Girl, but that's the last actual story I remember him doing anything in.
Apart from the Fantastic Four story already mentioned, Sleepwalker was also in Avengers: The Initiative.

I loved Sleepwalker . I think he'd make a great Netflix TV show, with cameos by the other Netflix heroes. With proper writing it could even make a fantastic feature film (check out that sweet alliteration).

I had this bad boy commissioned a few years back by Matthew Allison:

Maybe Rick Sheridan now suffers from chronic insomnia and Sleepwalker gets out for a minute or so around a couple hundred times a night, going increasingly insane with anger and frustration. It'd be hard to be a superhero that way.

I can see it now: Sleepwalker almost makes it to the bedroom window and then Rick Sheridan hears the toilet flush in his next door neighbor's apartment.

(*Sleepwalker screams in frustration as he disappears for the 57th time that night*)

To me the character should be used for any Dr. Strange related comic or make an appearance in Monsters Unleashed!
