Latinos of the DCU

And there goes Vibe. I wonder who they'll replace him with?

It's sad to see him go but I think The Flash (and Arrow too) could stand to trim the fat with their cast members at this point; would've preferred Vibe stuck around in some capacity or a different show tho. I think if they wanted to bring in another Latino hero, they couldn't go wrong with Jaime Reyes. I always read Godspeed as Latino, maybe they could cast him Latino and have him be next season's villain. If they wanted to have someone who fills Vibes role to a T they could bring in Sideways since Arrow got to do Silencer.

Iunno if you guys are counting Milestone characters but I always thought Tech-9 was a dope character, that would be super interesting if Milestone was around to be re-contextualized for contemporary audiences.

I noticed DC has some pretty cool/legit Latino superheroes with tons of potential. This is a thread dedicated to them, however utilized or underutilized they may be. I decided to add images and a poll of what I consider DC's top Latino heroes (villains too), so I might have missed some (if so, feel free to post them).

So Mystik U had this character named Pia Morales who is an afro-latina magician. I'd like to see this character appear again but would DC have an issue promoting her given she shares a race/ethnicity and last name with Miles Morales?

I’m curious to see if Blue Beetle and/or Vibe reappeared when Sideways officially ends. DC gets a bad wrap for seemingly having the “one Latino male at a time” policy. I would say it’s nonsense but evidence points to the contrary.

Sideways was Didio’s pet project. He went so far as to get Morrison to contribute to an issue. Sideways kind of occupies the same character space as Jaime. The Spider-Man role. The New Age of Heroes were obviously inspired by the Marvel Silver Age. Before Sideways, Blue Beetle had the most in common with Spidey (maybe Miles). Batman: Brave and the Bold and Injustice 2 pretty much had Jaime in the Spider-Man role. Jaime has been noticeably absent in the DCU since Sideways debuted.

As for Vibe, Sideways was given very similar powers. Vibe could break the vibrational barrier between worlds, while Sideways can open riffs between earth destinations and alternate realities. Vibe has been shelved for around 6 years (even though a version of the character has become very popular on The Flash tv show).

I wonder if these two were off the table while Didio’s book was being published.

There probably would be people who'd complain, but I doubt a majority would care .

I remember Didio supported Jaime's book a lot. I wonder if that played a part in Sideways a little.

I forgot that the Superman from Gods and Monster is Latino. I would love for them to somehow roll him into the DC Landscape in some capacity. I would like to see a team-up between him, Clark, Val, and Kong Kenan
