    Pretty much this.

I've always thought Superman's best "adversaries" were natural disasters such as earthquakes, tornadoes, floods, tsunamis and asteroid collisions.

    What about Metallo?

I would love to see a Superman movie with Mongul and Warworld.

There should be a another Superman film. I loved MoS, but I think Snyder should produce it, not direct. He has done MoS, BvS, and will do JL pt1. Director's fatigue will take it's toll, if it doesn't by JL Pt1. That is my worry. It happened to to Nolan in DKR (which was great, but you can see that it wasn't as best as BB and TDK and also with Raimi on Spider-Man3.

    Combine posts 43 and 44.
Metallo, Solomon Grundy, Atomic Skull and gorilla Grodd with natural and unnatural disasters (caused by one of or a combination of these).
Maybe have only 2 of the villains working together with the other 2 doing their own thing.
A combination too much for Superman to handle on his own, having to deal with 4 super villains plus natural disasters, but he does a fantastic job trying.
Use to introduce either Fate, Martian Manhunter or Zatanna (or another hero).
But keep primarily as a Superman movie.
Make it 3 hours long with a 4 hour extended Blu-Ray version.

If they REALLY want to get risque, they could try straight up adapting that old 1980s storyline in which Superman and Big Barda made a porno film.

Clearly the studio was disappointed in the reception and performance of MoS. I mean you think they would schedule another Superman movie given he is their second biggest property. I mean they even have a Cyborg movie on their slate.

But sure, a new Superman movie would be great. Just please don't let Snyder anywhere near it.

The Cyborg movie is supposedly no more, he will now feature in The Flash.

Different strokes. But the fact remains that a hero inspiring others through sacrifice is a long established tradition in literature and fiction.

How, exactly is that clear? Was there a press release?

    Right... but

    1) I'm talking about my impressions and opinions which have nothing to do with facts or literary tradition... but you also have a valid point

    2) I was talking to Superman=Hope... and he inspires, but technically "hope" also dies in the movie... at least until JL pt.1

I am sick to death of Superman and Batman films. That's all they ever do. They are the only ones they don't automatically screw up too. I'm hoping for good things from suicide squad but I honestly don't know.

Or maybe simply the fact Superman died in BvS is a factor. They could very well be waiting to see how Superman ends up post-JL before deciding what to do with him. They haven't scheduled a Batman movie, do they have no faith in that then?

brainiac or the shady side of project: cadmus are the two most-logical choices to me at this moment in time.

we've had a threat from without (zod, doomsday), we've had a threat from within (luthor). what i think is needed is to see a threat that combines the best of both -- in more than the property damage aspect that doomsday brought.

luthor teaming with brainiac? brainiac being the malicious intelligence behind cadmus?

whatever it is, it should be about superman owning his ideals while defeating his villain this time. if they can finally tie this thread together, it will be poetic, unique to cbm cinema, and cheered by the audience (i think).

You said Superman's death being used as an inspiration "just did not have the same message as Supermam inspiring the world with his optimism and hopeful outlook." That, as a matter of fact and literary tradition, is not really true. In both cases he inspires people to be better with his heroism. The message is the same, it's just delivered using a different narrative approach. The fact that the message was delivered in a fashion you didn't like or agree with doesn't alter that.
