Yeah, that would be a great opportunity to use Power Girl.

I bet Barry returns and tries to look his version of Kara, but can't locate her, because his universe, she's Linda Danvers. Which has been Supergirl human name since the character was created.

It would be great to have a different actress for that. To show that even physical changes can also be present in alternate universes.

If they went that route, they could use the Benoist lookalike who played Bizarro. That'd be a trip.
You are my favorite thing, Peter. My very favorite thing.

Unfortunately the Flash episode highlighted the biggest problem that the show has - namely Superman. The show as it stands is a re-tread of Superman - the same villains, the same sidekick (Jimmy), the same secret identity drama, etc. The biggest plot hole is that Superman is there to help but doesn't - especially since there are a dozen or so Kryptonians on the planet that he knows nothing about.

Then they throw in a Flash crossover but it turns out that he, along with Green Arrow, Firestorm, etc, don't exist on her Earth (whichever number it is). So if you're going to make a Supergirl TV show but eliminate most of the DC heroes from her universe anyway, then why didn't they just write it so that on THIS Earth, Superman never got there (or his ship blew up, whatever) so that she is the only good Kryptonian on the planet and then she can be a superhero in her own right, without being in the shadow of anyone. That would have allowed the plots to revolve around villains like Bizzaro, the Lex Luthor clone, etc without that whole "Superman could swoop in here and do it if he wanted" garbage hanging over the series.

Are you insinuating that no DC super hero series should have an in-universe Superman? Y'know...because he could totally swoop in and help out.

Wait, so then you do want them retread but just Superman out of the picture?

    .
I have no problem with this. That's one of the oddities of shared universes. Why doesn't hop Superman over to Gotham, when there's a physical threat his powers could help with. Why aren't Atlantean's dealing with humans pillaging their sovereign waters? And even in universes, where teams are on the same power level, they rarely interact or cooperate, even during crisises of global proportions.

You're questioning one of the fundamental laws of all DC cities. It's easier to travel between worlds than it is to travel between cities. That's just a fact of DC reality. You learn to live with it.

As to the (very short) news item, I think it's more likely for an Earth-Supergirl Barry Allen to show up. Given she's already met Earth-1 Barry, meeting another Barry could have some interesting potential for Kara.

As for THE FLASH--maybe next season they could introduce Zeta Beams or Boom Tubes--and in Barry's Earth-1 universe perhaps Krypton never blew up. Kara would be living on that planet.

They could solve this problem pretty easily by starting off the next season with the Funeral of Superman, who'd died battling Doomsday, leaving the Earth under Supergirl's protection

    But then...!

If Superman battled Doomsday, why didn't Supergirl help?
