Jessica Cruz: Green Lantern Appreciation

while dubious of the Green Lanterns book, premise and leads, I think it would be cool if Cruz rejects the Crime Syndicate ring for it to find original earth 3 Harold Jordan and for Power Ring to become a Venom-like nemesis for Cruz. It would also give the book a niche hook for an antagonist, a version of Hal Jordan.

I'd buy into that idea, the Crime Syndicate's dead members (including Harold) would have to be resurrected first though....

I just hope she lasts longer than the other human women we've seen as GLs all too briefly. About time we got one that stuck. I'd have preferred a non American/American citizen but I guess you can't have everything. Starting to think GL rings have some kind of geo-lock!

Well we will have to wait and see. Personally I think it will do well, most of what I've seen in terms of response to the book have been positive. And between this and Hal & The Green Lantern Corps. We will be getting a GL book every week. And I'm fine with that.

From the Darseid War special we see Harold mind is trapped in the Power Ring. There is already elements that could be use as seeds for a story if they want to go in that direction.

For now I hope Humphries will write better use of the Green Lantern Ring for Jessica than guns.

Indeed, all the previous Power Rings of Earth-3 form the spectral "Power Ring Corps" as shown in Justice League. They would be a fantastic adversary for Cruz, not that I expect that would ever happen.

Really don't like her costume redesign though, it looks "Jim Lee generic" to me!

I'm excited to learn more about Jessica and see her develop into a hero. DC lacks strong minority female characters so hopefully Jess can help fill that void.

Jessica looks really cool as a Green Lantern. I'm hoping she sticks around and becomes a breakout character. We need more Latinas (and Latinos in comics).
