Wouldn't Stryfe be kind of an obvious choice? If Cable isn't going to be in the next film and this is his one-off...wouldn't that make sense?

Actually, they haven’t named the film yet. So it could still be called Deadpool & Cable. Though I’m betting it will be something cheekier than that.
But I agree. Save Stryfe for X-Force. Bring him and the MLF, G.W. Bridge and the MRD (since they can’t use SHIELD), maybe Val Cooper and other government types trying to hunt them down...Department K, Weapon P.R.I.M.E., Garrison Kane, etc. So much gold to be mined in them hills...
Word on the streets is the actual title is "Untitled Deadpool Sequel"

Yup, it's totally on brand.
1:31: people in cages?
1:32 someone, probably Copycat, jumping on Wade before kissing him
1:35 interesting banners left: "prepare", "yourself", "the end is near", right: "pureblood", "purity, humanity, infinity"
I wonder if the "Friend of Humanity" are the bad guys?
Agree that there is basically no way they would introduce Stryfe for this film, if they even end up using Stryfe in any movie. If you think simply getting into Cable's backstory is too complicated for a movie and would take up a lot of time, then you've all but ruled out Stryfe already. Besides which, Apocalypse has already been in a film and was unfortunately destroyed.... again, barring time travel type things that is that for quite alot of possible lore/characters
Forget the old ways - Krakoa is god.
OBEY
They can always bring Apocalypse back and do him right. In fact, they could borrow from Remender’s Uncanny X-Force arc as a subplot in the X-Force film. So while Apocalypse wouldn’t appear during the movie, they establish that his ancient followers, Clan Akkaba, are trying to clone his body and resurrect his spirit. The movie itself deals with some other villain(s), such as Stryfe and the MLF, with the Mutant Response Division headed up by G.W. Bridge, and maybe Department K run by Val Cooper, Garrison Kane, etc.
But then we get an after credits scene with creepy Kid Apocalypse to tee up the sequel. That could be cool IMO.
You know... I never really thought about an "Apocalypse Solution" adaptation.. but damn... a cloned Apocalypse would be a real interesting way to bring him back into the films.
