New 52 Green Lantern is alright and it could get you interested in other titles + Rebirth Lantern titles look interesting.

Oh god, I used to read Geoff John's run of GL, but I think I stopped reading after a while. Maybe around the 30-ish issues? I just lost interest. If I wanted to jump back in, would I have read the 20 issues I missed?

Technically, but it works just fine as a standalone story. It's better than anything else for about a decade beforehand by lightyears.
