    Default Micronauts, #1

THEY CAME FROM A DYING UNIVERSE! ACROYEAR, SPACE GLIDER, BIOTRON and their allies are back, on the run from the evil BARON KARZA, and blasting through a universe where magic and science vie for control! With resources dwindling, the long-lost TIME TRAVELERS may hold the key to salvation... but will it mean armageddon for our world?

This looks pretty good. I didn't have any preconceived notions on how I wanted this to look, and I never read the Marvel series, so this may work for me.

I'm of the generation who had the Micronauts action figures from the '70s; the Time Traveler and Acroyear are a massive deal to me. Whenever I think of them I always think of "Logan's Run" for some reason... Anyway, I hope this series is good.

EDIT: Now, 24-hours later, and after seeing that bad Newsarama review, I think I'll take a pass on this and wait and see how ROM turns out. That's the one that seems to be the big deal for IDW.

I should have it with next week's shipment. I have both the Marvel and the Devil's Due issues, and I look forward to the new version.

Commander Rann originally represented the Space Glider figure, a non-descript human guy. The name is all Marvel.
Bug was Galactic Warrior, a non-descript human guy. His Bugginess is all Marvel.

Yeah I agree. Loved the initial 11 issues of the Marvel series, and think this looks good to. Def gonna check it out.

See Enigma Force, Marvel's rebranding of the team consisting of the characters they own.

They did a similar thing with the components of ROM they owned with Spaceknights.

Enigma Force and Spaceknights have each had a mini-series.

I'm going to keep an eye on this one for the reviews. I loved the original Marvel series as a child, must've read the issue where the fought Man-Thing a bazillion times. Hopefully this can capture the magic!

Though, the Newsarama review... 3/10.... Ouch.
I read Valiant Comics, and you should too!

Archer & Armstrong / Bloodshot USA / Divinity III / Faith / Generation Zero / Harbinger: Renegade / Ninjak / Savage

    Anxiously awaiting: Bloodshot: Salvation / Britannia II / Harbinger Wars 2 / Psi-Lords / Secret Weapons / Shadowman / War Mother / X-O Manowar

Seriously, why aren't you reading Valiant Comics?

The story was decent overall. For me the real problem was the art. None of it was bad mind you. It just wasn't consistent. I'm not sure why a first issue needed that many artists and colorists, but it was a little jarring, especially when that first transition occurs in the middle of a conversation. Something closer to the way Hypernaturals used to handle the dual art split might have worked better.

I bought it today. I read it. And I think it has promise.

Though I think the page count for the actual story was way too low. A #1 issue is all about establishing characters. And this barely managed at the most basic level. At least a truly double sized issue would have been more than justified for this property to really give it legs.

This is a rare case where I think IDW dropped the ball. And that's a major shame.

I have come to expect better from IDW.

What about Marionette? Marvel too? And does this mean these particular characters won't appear in the upcoming Hasbro movie?
