On top of my head and I'm really surprised nobody has mentioned my number 1 favorite artist.
1. Mike Deodato Jr.
Not in chronological order:
Mark Brooks
Victor Ibanez
Oliver Coipel
Eman Casallos
Colleen Doran was 15! She had actually conceived A Distant Soil at age 12. She had won an art contest, sponsored by Disney, at age 5! She actually turned down some work because she was underaged and felt uncomfortable with the adult content (a revival of Miss Fury). There's a really great interview with her, in the book Comic Book Rebels, which came out in the 90s. She endured a lot of harassment and a lot of people trying to exploit her.
Someone above listed Mike Deodato. His work was first seen in America at Innovation, in the early 90s; but, he had been working in his native Brazil before that.
Ivan Reis
Nate Bellegarde

Chris Burnham
Nicola Scott
Benjamin Dewey
Sean Murphy
James Stokoe
Declan Shalvey
David Aja
Amy Reeder

Ignacio Calero
Annie Wu
