Was it not the third time Rogue fell into a coma in about 12 issues? They were getting mighty tired of her shtick.

There was a episode called "Rogue's Tale" about how she got Carol's powers. The dumbest part of the ENTIRE thing was how at the end..Carol is gonna smile in hospital while in a coma just because this villain is confessing how wrong it was at the time. It was pretty silly. She's powerless and brain dead but she smiles in time for Rogue's confessional and regret.
oops, deleted
Let the flames destroy all but that which is pure and true!
Lots of negativity in this thread about the cartoon series, it was probably the best thing for the X-Men back in the 90's. The comics by themselves didn't fuel the endless marketing and promos ranging from Pizza Hut to sticker books in your local grocery store.
The X-Men have been less popular overall before and after the cartoon. All hail our Avenger overlords $$$
And that was one of my favorite episodes. I always interpreted that last scene as the Carol personality that was trapped inside Rogue was finally back in her rightful body. You'll see that when the nurse comes into the room and is surprised that "Jane Doe" has a visitor. Rogue touches Carol's forehead with her bare skin to get her hair away from her face and a white spark flashes for a second or two that not even Rogue sees. She tells the nurse that her name is Carol Danvers and that they were very close. When Rogue leaves the room, the machine that monitored Carol's brainwaves started to become active again and then you see Carol smile.
I always felt that it was a happy ending...mostly. Carol was back in her body and would eventually come out of her coma, tho without the Ms. Marvel powers.

Like Samwise Gamgee. In this show Rogue and Storm had a friendship like Sam and Frodo.
Storm’s the Frodo to Rogue’s Sam because they’re like sisters and encouraging one another as well as protecting each other, they were like sisters. But that’s just my opinion, it doesn’t really have to be anyone else’s.

Where is this coming from?????
Storm and Rogue are good friends. Rogue is not Jean status, but Storm and Rogue has their tough patches. But in the End they are very good friends.
As I love both characters a lot and have kept a good eye on them, I find they are not good friends.
Storm did not want Rogue on the team and she has always kept her distance with Rogue. They are good colleagues, fighting for the same course. They have been on the same teams for many times, most notable the long periods of the Outback and X-Treme. But more than colleagues who tolerate each other it never came. They might respect en protect one another, yes. But there is a lot of difference between being friends (which Ororo is with Jean and Kitty) and co-members of a team.
