Default Marvel Cinematic Universe (NO SPOILERS ALLOWED!)

This thread covers the entire Marvel Studios Universe, from movies to Netflix to ABC... if it is in continuity, it counts.

And if we could... let's not turn this into a DCEU vs MCU thing. Or a "come in and bash 100%" thing.

Keep all spoilers behind spoiler tags until a sufficient time has passed before the movie hit WW release please.

I started my Marvel marathon late (there are so many movies now and with kids... its hard to get them all in). Got 4 more movies left in 3 days, probably just going to skip GoG since it has no real baring on CW.

Still think the Frigga funeral is the most underrated scene in the MCU.

Might be. I feel it gets overshadowed by the (understandable) angry reaction to killing off an underutilized female character which seemed to have unexplored potential, just so the Odinboys can bond over manpain...but it i a beautiful scene, with Brian Tyler's score rising in place of dialogue, Loki's quiet freak-out in his cell, and the incredible dream visual of those flaming boats sailing off the edge of the world for the souls held within to depart.

While it's nice for The Dark World to embrace the very Kirby-esque motif of 'ancient aliens' with Asgard being a thing of weird, advanced science, sometimes it's better to just leave things as magic. This is one of those times.
The X-Books Board is wretched and does not deserve the Domino Appreciation Thread.

    .
The score was on point, especially in place of the dialogue. It was perfectly done IMO.

But yeah, wish we got more Frigga in Thor to flesh her out a bit.

Great post about Frigga's Viking sendoff, Craig. Beautifully done by Branaugh and his crew. I wish they had kept Rene Russo around as Frigga though.

So you've not seen GOG? I have to admit that for me GOG and Ant Man movies were the ones I was most ambivalent about going to see at the theater. I considered waiting for release to POV on cable. But my nieces and nephew wanted me to go with them along with my brother so I went. I was surprised how much I enjoyed them. With GOG I guess the only thing you might want to see is the easter egg at the end. But it was great to see the Nova corps too.

Taylor was the director for Thor 2 actually

No no no I have seen all the movies and own them lol.

I am talking about re-watching at home on blu-ray before CW comes out. I still have 4 movies to go (WS, GoG, AoU, and Ant-Man) but only 3 days left before CW so I won't make it. So I am going to leave GoG out because it really doesn't effect anything in this movie.

Waiting to see how they do Captain Marvel's costume. Hopefully they unveil some art at SDCC.

I wish we had gotten more of any Asgardian not named Thor/Loki/Odin and seen them really fleshed out .

At least Sif got a few Agents of SHIELD appearances. Maybe one of these days they'll do a Warriors Three One-Shot...

I have re-watched a lot of MCU movies except Iron Man trilogy and Ant-man. I've a feeling Cap's trilogy is going to be the best of all the other characters.

After Ragnarok I hope we get a Journey Into Mystery Thor in Phase 4

I personally like both Thor movies better than any IM movie and more than Cap 1 (sue me, I am a Thor fanboy and feel his movies get blasted way more than they should) but if CW is anywhere near the quality of Winter Soldier, then yeah, I'll agree with that.

And I just hope there is still an Asgard after Thor 3....

If there is no Asgard maybe Tony Stark will create another because he is smart lol! Thor Odinson is my favorite MCU character too and i love his movies regardless of "reviews" but it just didn't give we what I wanted - which is more Asgard. I love Malekith too. I'm just glad Ragnarok wont have a lot to do with Jane at least if Marvel wants a script of Thor with a co-star that is fun to watch and has a purpose i wouldn't mind a Thor/Hulk, Thor/Sif or Thor/Loki (already had this movie) team-ups movie.

Yeah, I do enjoy the Thor movies and even liked The Dark World for the most part, but I still wish we got more focus on Asgard and the Asgardian supporting cast. We're already on Ragnarok and there's so many characters and elements still left untapped for that franchise.

Thor Team-Up might be cool .

I think the Thor series is underrated. Especially Chris Hemsworth. Loki gets credited with "stealing the show" because Tom Hiddleston is an international treasure, but I consistently like the performances Hemsworth gives as Thor. Hopefully Ragnarok will give him a chance to shine.

I like the Thor movies also and I really don't understand the knocks against Dark World. Oh, thanks for correcting me on the director Mind of Shadow. I forgot Branaugh opted out of that. If some consider the Thor franchise to be the MCU's weak link then I'd be thrilled to see the Fantastic Four become another weak link one day.

The Captain America part of the MCU is even stronger to me than Tony's. I had thought that Thor and Cap would be the most difficult to make believable on screen and that the movie audiences would just snicker at them. Yet here we have Loki with those huge Jack Kirby horns on his helmet and the fans love him.

(geez, I have to proof my posts more often! )
