remember you asked me this when the media starts actually talking about Marvel's first female-led movie. Hope not being the Wasp in the first Ant-Man movie was an issue; despite her being an entirely new character.

Marvel's really knocking it out of the park with their smaller castings; Wai Ching Ho as Madame Gao, James Badge Dale as Eric Savin, Tony Curran as Finn Cooley, Ben Barnes as Billy Russo, and Frank Grillo as Brock Rumlow stick out to me. there are too many supporting players to list ("Sharon" "Claire" etc). these are the less flashy folks that really add character to the marvel universe.

That's not really a confirmation. It just links back to the Variety article that ASSUMES he was cast as Mar-Vell. It doesn't seem like Marvel has officially confirmed this. I'm hoping it will turn out to be true, though, 'cause I REALLY want Mar-Vell involved.

Yep, I fear that too. Besides the elephant in the room with Moondragon, I will be SO done with Gunn if he pulls a Drax or Mantis characterization on them. And then, to add insult to injury, there's always the risk that Marvel Comics will pull a Peter Quill on them and reboot the characters to whatever the movies did to them. I weep for the future of my favorite characters.
