Default About the street-level characters from the Golden Age...

With the Golden Age characters coming to this place and time, and a JSA title in the offing, I'd like to suggest that those street-level characters be peeled off and cast in their own team.

Further, I suggest that Batman leave the JLA and lead those golden oldies in their new venture.

If that happens, who would you like to see on the team? I think Wildcat is a given.

DC tried a similar thing a few years back with Batman and the old pulp heroes. It was called First Wave. It didn't do well and I don't think they even finished the mini series.

Is there a link to where DC has OFFICIALLY announced that this is definitely happening?

Not that I know of. But Earth 2 will be gone soon enough.

Anyway, who would you like to see on the team?

This is different, The Golden Agers won't be a million years old this time, and they'll need Batman to show them around the 21st century.

They weren't old in that series. It was out of continuity and the idea was that all the heroes were in there prime. It was Bats, The Spirit, Doc Savage, etc. Later Black Canary and Rima were supposed to appear but the series got cancelled. It was by Brian Azzerello and JG Jones.

I'm not saying your idea can't work just that something similar was already tried

The only ones I can remember are the Crimson Avenger, Sandman (Wesley Dodds version) and the Star-Spangled Kid and Stripesy

Don't forget Madam Fatal and Red Tornado, both cross-dressing superheroes.

They could make the book very topical, what with the new "don't pee if you're trans" laws.

DC has a version of the Red Bee. They should really take advantage of that.

Patsy Walker on TV! Patsy Walker in new comics! Patsy Walker in your brain! And Jessica Jones is the new Nancy! (Oh, and read the Comics Cube.)

With a representative bee character from each color. The Red Bee is Anger; a Green Bee is Will; the Yellow Bee is Fear. Batman could lead them and their ctach phrase would be "Bees. My God."

DC's leaving money on the table.

    Hourman might qualify as street-level.

I thought golden-age heroes without powers were called Mystery-Men.

That might be a good title for the comic!

And before anyone objects to "Men" -- the X-Men have women, so the Mystery Men could too.
