Good news. This is a hideous assault on academic freedom. And it's happening at a college that just appointed Glenn McDonnell, a notorious Confederate supporter with no academic experience at all, as its president, despite a 98% vote of no confidence from the faculty.
I hope this news means that the South Carolina legislature is finally sick of the bad press that they've been getting over this.
This is excellent news for fans of literature, art, and academic freedom.

Wow, seeing something like this be an issue in this day and age! Not sure if I should be happy that they voted against it or be extremely sad that there even was any voting instead of a big F OFF to who ever came up with this or supported it.
