    Default Most favorite ethnic cuisines?

I like tex mex, americanized chinese, and italian food. And I think some russian or indian food is occasionally interesting. What are yours?

And how and why is italian, mexican, and chinese food considered the most universally popular ethnic cuisines in the United States.?

Seasame seed chicken and crab rangoons. Yum yum yum (though it's totally bastardised and doesn't really count)

Greek and Mediterranean fare (gyros, kabobs, hummus, baklava, etc.), Mexican, German & Eastern European (schnitzels, sausages, authentic German beers, krauts, pierogi, etc.), and Italian. I am not sure Americanized Chinese food is really all that ethnic at this point, but I like it too, but I am not sure I would like truly authentic Chinese fare.

Creole. Not especially ethnic, but it's native to a region that's not my own. I also love Mediterranean and Middle Eastern, they're not exactly the same, but they are very similar. Hummus and falafel are two of my favorite foods.
