    Default Amazing Spider-Man #3 Spoilers/Discussion

Welp, I found this issue very enjoyable. Nice pace and good art (although I saw two weird panels from Ramos, a pig nosed Peter Parker and a googly eyed J.J.). I wrote a full review here if anyone is interested.

    Onto spoilers!

This issue cuts between Black Cat, Peter in the lab, J.J. Jameson, Electro and finally a climax at a burning building. Sometimes this balance doesn’t quite work, while at other times it keeps the pace and tension on high always. This issue is more of the latter as there isn’t much in the way of boring or exposition heavy moments.

There isn't a ton of spoiler stuff in this issue you couldn't guess if you read the last issue. spoilers:
Black Cat wants to take out Spidey for putting her in prison, but after fighting with him gets a little confused as to who he really is. Spidey tries to explain it was Doc Ock, so instead of just saying "believe me" over and over, goes into the Dock Ock voice and pretends to be him. He does this to convince her that maybe he wasn't really Spidey before, but then she leaves abrutly. She then says to herself maybe, MAYBE, she's wrong, but then finds Electro and tells him they need to take out Spider-Man together. Team up time!
    end of spoilers

The other major development is finding out spoilers:
J.J. is going to have his own show on the Fact Channel, which is similar to CNN or Fox News.
    end of spoilers

Thanks to Mahes, another spoiler I forgot to mention, spoilers:
Ezekiel is involved in keeping Silk caged in her room.
    end of spoilers

The J.J. revelation is a good one I think and gives him a whole new role for Dan Slott to explore. What did you guys think?

As you said, the balance was a bit off at times but I found myself enjoying this issue more than the prior one. Ramos had some inconsistent art at times but I think he did well on the action scenes.

Black Cat/Spidey scenes were a bit odd and I don't find myself buying her motivations to be a villain. In many ways this essentially was to me another set up issue to have a big fight scene later.

The JJ development is good and I think Slott will have too much exploring that as well.

It's hard to believe Black Cat goes from wanting to make out to wanting to kill him and seems like a crazy jump. Then again, she doesn't say kill she says "take out."

    Yeah but spoilers:
going to Electro certainly makes kill a very strong possibility.
    end of spoilers

One thing I thought was interesting was spoilers:
    the Ezekiel and Silk connection.

It's the case of when you've hit the lowest-of-the-low rock bottom, you can do a 180-degree turn because your life's been changed that much.

I don't think he heard it. I mean if you're trapped in a burning building and trapped underneath rubble, do you really think you would focus on a conversation with people in another room?

It could be a cool twist, but at the same time what would it add to the story?

I don't think he heard it either. He certainly had more to focus on then what was being said. However if he did hear that then it certainly does make for interesting story wrinkles. Would he tell MJ? Would he try to talk to Spidey one on one about it?

    This issue was just eh.
Like there are some good moments, but there was nothing really exciting that happened. I get that everything is slowly cooking and all, but with this once-a-month pace it's really boring. It just feels like it's gonna take another 2 months before anything new happens.
