doesn't stuff like this make you start to question your own mortality and if you are really making the best use of the time you have?
i ask because i see far too many people settling for crap jobs that absorb their lives and give them barely enough time to spend with their friends and families...they don't give it a second thought but when news like this comes out those same people start to wonder if they've been living life the wrong way this whole time

Very sad news. My heart goes out to his family. Such a tremendous talent. Reading this was like a gut-punch this morning, though I have no reason to be personally affected. Not knowing the man personally, I can just say that his vision and work has given me a lot of enjoyment and inspiration. "Palliative care" sounds dire, but if there's a sliver of hope, I'm pulling for them ...

i think everyone hates cancer....far too many people die from it and yet there comes a point where we're helpless to do anything about it
