Yes, this is sad news. He definately should be remembered as one of the greats of this medium. I think he was under appreciated for many years. I loved his style. New Frontier is one of my faves.

Oh my god....no...i read just this morning that he was battling cancer and now he's dead?!??!
I don't even know what to say. He was a beautiful artist and a very talented writer. DC the new Frontier is one of my favorite DC stories ever, I read both books when I was a little kid, maybe 9 or 10. I'm almost 19 now and I've been a die hard fan of his ever since. I can't believe this at all.

So sad, and so soon after the news reached us that he was battling this unfair disease.
At least his work will live on forever. Such staggering work on 'New Frontier'.

R.I.P. i may have never gotten to know you or read books that you worked on mister cooke but I'm still saddened all the same to learn that the industry has lost such a talented artist

The New Frontier still stands as one of the favorite DC works I've read, right next to Kindgom Come. RIP Darwyn Cooke.
