    .

It's more like, if a man was born without any sexual organs. Or a brain. Or a heart. Or anything. Yet could heat bread.

And create half robot, half human babies? You're worse than Mephisto.
Okay, I've posted on /co/ long enough to know when I'm being rused.

    Claremont would be ashamed!
Yeah, it's hard to wrap my mind around how you can support one fictional race that's been called less than human and abominations for years in the comics... and then do the same to another race.
    Boggles the mind.

Robots aren't a race. In the marvel universe, mutants are.

To those people who don't think Dragon man should be treated as a sentient being with rights, I'd ask you on what grounds.
There are arguments in modern (real world) AI that an AI can never truly be sentient, for example here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chinese_room
But none of you are using those, and I'm pretty sure Marvel level AI goes above and beyond what any real world credible critics of AI would say isn't sentient. So please explain why it's ok for Dragon man to be killed.

I don't think it's ok for Dragon man to be killed / disassembled . That's why I think that the Avengers in this issue are imposters.

In the fictional world of the MU, AIs are very advanced. They go far beyond the Turing test and react to events, express opinions and form relationships. I would think mutants would be open-minded and sympathetic to them.

They kind of are now after age of Ultron. It is not just Vision, Machine Man, and Victor. There are thousands of AI who can think outside their programing.

If the issue itself deals with AI not having rights and being decommissioned, then it is clearly up for discussion in relation to the issue.

In the issue : dragon man is shut down because he has no rights

In the thread: do AI have rights?

Let me know the logic jump I missed.

Avengers AI says the opposite. Well the distinction is that AI are a race no one is saying robots are a race they are a different thing.

    So are Inhumans a race?

I don't know if Inhumans are on topic so I'm gonna keep my thoughts to myself on that one

    Btw, you've misquoted me

Robots, or androids, however you choose to call them, can be a race. Ben met a member of the Mekkan race, which inherited the planet of their humanoid creators after that latter were wiped out by a virus. This way way back in Fantastic Four #91, in the Silver Age. You can see that the Fantastic Four title established many precedents in the MU. Not Earth-based A.I., but still a whole planet of A.I.

Ben's timeline is kind of funny when you think about the events that lead up to him confronting Johnny.

-Finishes taking the stand and getting the verdict on the team.
-Decides to walk the rest of the way home.
-Gets into a bunch of fights with mindless ones.
-Accidentally gets clobbered by Nova a few times.
    -Truth bomb goes off.
-Learns something horrible about Reed and Johnny.
    -Confronts Johnny.

He's been having one really bad day.

No I left out the mutants part because AAI did not say the opposite of that just that the AI that think beyond their programing are alive.

It is 2 days until he sees Johnny.
