Default PREVIEW: DC Universe: Rebirth #1

It all begins here. Do not skip to the last page. Do not let a friend or message board ruin this comic for you. The future (and past) of the DC Universe starts here. Don't say we didn't warn you!
THEY SAID IT: "Rebirth is about focusing in on the core of the character and their respective universe," says writer and DC Entertainment Chief Creative Officer Geoff Johns. "It brings back what has been lost: the legacy of the characters, the love and the hope of the DCU!"

    Full preview here.

    80. Maybe I'm bad at counting but I think there will still be plenty to read on Wednesday.

It's actually 80 pages and I believe that it will actually come out in stores on Tuesday at midnight.

Heh, maybe DC will counter Marvel's big announcements tomorrow by throwing it up on Comixology a day early. I don't think shops will need to worry about this issue selling, even if the whole thing is out there already. DC would probably get a big double dip. I know I'd buy it twice.

I've never been clear on this. Tuesday at midnight essentially means it's going on sale at 12:01 a.m. Wednesday, right? Is anyone's shop going to open then? I don't think mine is.

We're getting 12 pages of an 80 page book.

Normally we get 4 preview pages, which is 20% of a 20 page comic. 12 pages of an 80 page book is only 15%. We are actually getting less preview content than normal.

Actually, i'm starting to have some doubts about blue beetle; the egyptian angle aside, i've never been comfortable with the idea that the scarab attaches itself to jaime's back kike some sort of parasite that " itches all the time." I'm not sure which doctor fate we're getting, and ted kord is a big ol' nerd. Is he ever going to be in costume, or is this purely jaime's show?

Not sure which I'm most excited about: Ted Kord or Wally West. Realize now how much I've missed them both.

It really looks amazing. If they wanted to go with a retro feel it worked because it looks like these pages could have been drawn by Garcia-Lopez

I admit it, I really loved this. It was great to see Ted's goofy smile, and that scene with Aquaman and Mera? About darn time.
