The way I understand DC history, there were four main Supermans:

    - Bronze Age Superman who worked at the Daily Star and appeared in the early decades of the Superman Comics and then was sort of transferred to Earth 2 up until 1986 as the "older" Superman you may know from Crisis on Infinite Earths, with the gray temples (Though some argue that this is two very similar, but different, people).

    - Pre-Crisis Superman, who was sort of a modernized version of the original and existed up until 1986.

    - Post-Crisis Superman, 1986-2011, who is supposed to be also be SuperDad (They could still swerve us on this one)

    - New52 Superman 2011-2016

What if we could somehow take new52 Superman as a base, a man born in modern times with the history he has, but merge in these other Supermen so he has some of the memories and characteristics of the other four on top of who he is? He could be talking on his smartphone and then suddenly slip a bit, and have a black and white memory flash of it being in the 1940s or whatever and that Clark Kent rushing to a phone booth to transform into Superman. Maybe he starts occasionally saying "Great Scot!" and "Holy Rao!" (Although after the JLA Rao arc, that's probably out *). They could intentionally go back and have him redo certain moments from Action Comics #1 with the same wording, like stopping a similar situation to the one where the guy tries to hang himself, etc. if his first book as a joined being.

You want to do nostalgia, that's how you do nostalgia.

Nostalgia isn't killing the fourth Superman and restoring the third Superman, nostalgia is having all four- in one person if necessary.

How many versions of the Flash are going to be running around after Rebirth exactly? Three? And there is rumored to be at least one more coming after that.

    * It's not out if SuperDad is there alone, of course. He never met Rao. See why I'd like new52 Superman's memories merged in if new52 isn't coming back?

Ive wanted 1 superman, 1 with all the memories for awhile now,and really this is the only way to make enough fans happy to atleast try to have a majority and all the version factions come together.
