I really enjoyed it even though I had read all the spoilers. In retrospect, as usual, I'm kicking myself for allowing myself to be "spoiled" ahead of time. (Geoff Johns was right to warn us!) If I hadn't known what to expect, I would probably STILL be gasping for breath right now!

The part where Linda didn't recognize Wally was heartbreaking. And Wally saying goodbye to Barry and fading away was such a tense moment - again, even though I knew that Wally would be saved. That's just masterful writing. I love it when a comic can make you FEEL emotion, and "Rebirth" accomplished that wonderfully.

This comic was great from start to finish. Best of all, it sets the stage for many more great stories to come!

As for the Watchmen aspect, I could take it or leave it. It's very clever to tie it into Rebirth, but I'm not really a Watchmen fan. I read the graphic novel, and while it was definitely original, I wan't that impressed. The DC Universe is a million times bigger than the Watchmen (in my eyes), so using the Watchmen as a plot device doesn't offend me at all.

I'm kinda surprised Snyder didn't want Superman to watch Lois and Bruce conceive their love child. All the while singing the "Na na na na na na Batman!" theme song - Robotman, 03/06/2021

On a more serious note, Justice League 50 - out this week too - perfectly explains why Johns' whole morality speech at the end of this Rebirth special is so utterly fake.

As far as we got so far, the whole Watchmen vs DCU apparently is a meta-commentary about the overpresence of violence and dark moments in recent DC comic books. Right?

    (Spoilers for JL 50)
    spoilers:
So why the hell does Johns make Superwoman literally explode in JL 50, out this same week? I mean, you can see everything - bones, disintegrated flesh, etc. Come on, I am not necessarily against destruction porn in movies or comics, but how could such a commentary be credible?

I admit it. It was incredible..

although I still think the same with superman.

I'll do what I did in new 52.. not buy superman.. Justice League will be the only book will buy with him..

The Wally/Barry sequence was worth any shortcomings the story had (and I'm hard pressed to find any at this point).

I would have gladly paid $20 just to get that Wally/Barry scene.

So Barry "remembers" Wally vanishing due to the incident with mr twister and the Titans. Does Wally consider that his past or the false past he is being forced to remembers as he reintegrates into this post flash point world?

Much appreciated. But I think that I'd rather take La Cagole.

It is one of those questions we will have to wait and see what happens in issue 1 of Flash or maybe Titans on.

Wally has his memories of being an adult and his pre-Flashpoint life due to being in the Speed Force. After Flashpoint happened, Wally was inserted into the New 52 like most of everyone else, but younger and disappeared and was forgotten during the Titans Hunt backstory. His disappearance probably had to do with entering the Speed Force which is where he recalled his past pre-Flashpoint history and memories. In Rebirth, once he got tethered back into the world by Barry, he already is starting to lose those recalled memories, but he and Barry are now determined to figure it out. Batman too.

So yes, Wally considers it a false past in a way - an altered past. It's not untrue, because it did happen, but it also isn't the "right" reality.

So is the new Dr. Fate out?

And seeing as how the Scarab is apparently magic again, why isn't Traci 13 involved in Blue Beetle's story line?

Oz already appeared in Johns brief Superman run. Back then, the way he talked seemed to suggest he was Jonathan Kent (the father), but who knows if that will still stand now, since this clearly wasn't planned back then.

He clearly considers it a false past. Note that his flashbacks were to Post-Crisis continuity, including costumes, while Barry "remembered" them with New 52 costumes. Wally then immediately says that there's much more Barry didn't remember.

While I do have a lot of questions about some of the things that were set up, I'm really excited and happy about what I've read. This was a fantastic way of keeping the elements of the new 52 while attempting to return things back to the way they were before the flashpoint event. I can't wait to see more of Wally West back amongst the Titans, I can't wait to find out more about Mr. Oz and what his connection to Superman is, I want to know what's up with the jokers, I want to see the return of the JSA and the Legion, and I'm even excited to see the watchmen come in. There is so much more I want to talk about but I'll leave it at that for now.

Something tells me I'll be reading a lot more DC comics in my future. Can't for next week for the first titles.

And the killing of Pandora. I don't care about Pandora at all, but making Dr Manhattan a serial killer who constantly replicates the Rorschach murder spoilers:
(three times in a row, this week),
end of spoilers is just a banalization of the original scene.
    spoilers:
Three times? I know this one, but where were the other two?
