Maybe. I rather think of it as a subconscious reference: it happens often, at least to me, that I'm drawing something and once I've finished it I come to realize that I've been unwittingly recalling a picture by somebody else, and I've been inspired by it (more like I've copied it!).

That can certainly happen but I just don't see much similarities between those 2 images beyond both of them depicting a roaring bear's head in the background. It's like if a cover featured a wolf that was howling at the moon and then saying that it was influenced by or directly ripped off one of the millions of pictures of howling wolves. It doesn't have to have necessarily been ripping off any of those millions of pictures with howling wolves in them because the concept of a howling wolf is so universal and widespread that it's hard to attribute it to one artist alone and then say that anyone else after that is simply ripping them off or paying homage to them (whether intentionally or not).

Default Two parties and one plagiarism, or When Jackson met Bill

Jackson Guice is a limited artist, but he has good taste. He was on board for The New Mutants #45, 'We were only foolin'', well-known for its strong antibullying message. Given that this story happened during a teen party, the best choice was turning to legendary TNM #21, 'Slumber party', masterpiece by Bill Sienkiewicz. Guice plundered side-faces, earrings, clothes, dance steps and probably much more, with amazing (as always) inking by Kyle Baker.

You mean that they're easy to pick up for any reader (that is, I'm not telling anything new), or that Guice was clumsy? I'm often confused by your posts, LOL .

That he was incredibly lazy and unoriginal in his swiping.

Whoa, I've seen those covers many times and never even thought about them matching up...nice.

Told you so! Many years ago I did a pic of Typhoid Mary and Daredevil. Just yesterday, all of a sudden, I noticed that it was almost identical to this one:

*gasp* I swear it was an absolutely involuntary thing. We are what we read...

Now, let's go with our beloved Liefeld >:-) .

This is a tribute (similar characters, similar intros):

This is a plagiarism (maybe involuntary...but I doubt it):

    TNM Special Edition

    TNM #100

Actually, it is more likely the kind of unintentionally plagiarisms which I'm talking about.
