Well, those are not exactly feats outside of the Doctor's reach. Written properly, he's the guy that solos the Big 7 JLA by turning the them into a park.

Plus, we don't actually have any clue as towards Doc Manhattan's powerlevel compared to, say, Superman's, because Doc Manhattan has never before fought or even met a superpowered being.
Omnipotent in a universe that doesn't superheroes or even magic in it is not the same as omnipotent in the DCU.

It's possible that his power will be more restricted in the DCU, or that a superpowered person is simply harder to "mold" than a normal human.

Though I doubt DC will go with that strategy, should he be the new "Big bad" (or something like it).

Magic and the likes will no doubt be a very big problem for him. Would be interesting to see how that kind of fight pans out.

Wouldn't classic Anti-Monitor (COIE era) smoke Dr. Manhattan fairly easily?

    Probably without effort.

On the other hand, letting Manhattan run amock might be preferable to getting the frelling Anti-Monotor involved.

He can see past, present and future. He lives in the past, present and future.
The whole idea of the character is that he is a god, without beginning or end.
Having him trade fistiscuffs with muscle boys is just a stupid idea. It doesn't dilute the original story, true, but it makes DC look like a total creative bankrupt entity.

He's not going to be beaten "physically" and I'm pretty sure Flashes will be present when Manhattan gives up. It's going to be a clash of ideologies rather than heroes themselves.

    What hope?

You mean - Identity Crisis, Cry for Justice, Amazons Attack?

    Morpheus.

Anyone who read the Dr. Destiny arc in Sandman knows how that fight would go.

There were tons of legacy characters running around so I don't understand why you are asking what. Hell most of the Titans were finally moving into the JL.

Well when you only list only awful stories (made mostly by the current heads over at DC) it makes it seem like nothing good ever came from then.

    No.
Dr. Manhattan was built to be a god. The idea of the character was 'what if the superman existed, and he was all powerful?'
Once again, DC misses the point of stories they don't understand.
Dr. Manhattan was more than just a character..he was the glimpse of what the idea of super power means to one country. A parallel of the atomic race that fueled the cold war. Moore and Gibbons were basically giving the Arms race a face and body, an entity that existed in all times.

Geoff Johns has been pretty clear in every interview he's done since the Watchmen reveal was public knowledge. Doc Manhattan is NOT going to be some lame baddie the DCU can punch their way to victory. He's the antagonist, not the villain. The threat he poses is philosophical, not physical.

Anyone expecting a typical brawl should prepare themselves for disappointment

In fact, Im happy to hear it. Doctor Manhattan does not seem to be your typical cartoony DCTV villain of the week. I see Doc Manhattan more like Q from Star Trek. Not a villain but a very powerful presence that can haunt you at any given moment.
