Bought an updated edition of "101 Horror movies to watch before you die". it was the same as an early 2000' edition only they added "it follows" (!)

Let The Right One In is the first thing that comes to mind.

It Follows looks like it only debuted in 2014 Festivals that year, but I wouldn't complain about including it here.

Orphan for sure.

Conjuring stuff I love in general but I'd like to think about them before answering because it's really felt like a while from the last movie, nice we're having a Nun sequel this year from the Malignant and M3gan screenwriter though.

I loved the Evil Dead remake for sure and hope the Rise movie this year lives up to everything I've seen about it.

Sinister (2012) scared the bejeebies out of me. Great scary film with Ethan Hawke

Paranormal Activity (released 2009) made me sleep with the lights on for two nights.

Cloverfield is a pretty decent horror film in the kaiju mode imo. Might depend on where you come down on the whole found footage thing though.
