Post Name Your Favorite Controversial Comic(s)

I want to know if anyone has ever liked a book (movie, TV series, etc.) that is infamously hated or is critically acclaimed, but is criticized for any number of reasons?

What, in detail, did you like about that work?

Sorry about the title. I didn't realize my mistake until after I posted.

Maybe it would help if you listed something you liked that was considered controversial.

It's also Memorial Day, so it's a relatively low traffic day.
    Sincerely,

Ah, I see now. Forgot Memorial Day is today. Thank you.

I guess my controversial favorite would be... The Killing Joke. I watched a motion picture/audio drama of it on YouTube. It was good.

I think I'm the only person who liked the idea of Superman having a kid in Superman Returns.

I think The Dark Knight Strikes Again is friggin' great, and that the people that hate on it just don't get it, and probably didn't REALLY get Dark Knight Returns. Did they really want a retread? Both were biting commentaries on their specific times. Strikes Again was almost 20 years later, it had to say something different. Learn to live in the now.

My favorite controversial comic in my collection is my Boiled Angel trade paperback. It physically disgusts me, I've never been able to read more than bits and pieces of it and I think it's still illegal in Florida, but I own it because I don't think what I'm able to read or what artists can produce should be censored or controlled.

I didn't want a sequel at all. So I didn't buy it. Sorted!

That's the way I feel about whatever stomach-churning necrophilia D.C. has been doing with the corpse of Watchmen.

I liked it too. I think the cartoony art shocked a lot of people.

I really enjoyed the Charles Soule/Javier Pulido She-Hulk series.
