Default Hey, DC! What about bringing back WWII heroes with "Rebirth"?

The 75th anniversary of the United States officially entering World War II is approaching. (December 7th, 1941: "a date that will live in infamy")
Now that Rebirth has opened a door to the possible return of the Golden Age JSA, can we also see a return of classic WWII-era war characters like Sgt. Rock, The Losers, Haunted Tank, Gravedigger, Mlle. Marie, etc.?

New 52 did not wipe out Sgt Rock altho it could be a while before dc tried war comics again bec of the failure of New 52 to find new customers for the other genres like war, western, comedy, etc. During the bronze age, dc still had genres war, western, horror short stories, comedy (plop), romance, etc.

But they gave us an alternate, more modern Rock that wasn't around that long. What I want to see is classic Sgt. Frank Rock.

I believe Sgt. Rock appeared during Jeff Parker's Justice League United run.

An old Johnny Thunder is already incorporated into the DC Universe so it is a matter of time that other golden age characters follow him, but perhaps they keep them old.

    Oh, there was that.

But I would prefer more straight-up war comics stories set during WWII.

Yes I tried most of those in N52 and was one of the people who didn't really take to them.

This is my personal opinion now but I think movies for sure and maybe comics too have forgotten how to do good, fun, exciting war based stuff and instead inflict upon us crap like A Midnight Clear where the people in it are not heroic because they're ordinary guys doing brave things they're unheroic because they are ordinary guys sh*tting their pants. More realistic? Probably, but more entertaining? Not in my book

Classic Rock was the current Rock's grandfather, so he's still in canon.

Still "in canon", but what about in new comic book stories set during World War II?
