Exactly. The more I thought about this last night the more amazed I was. I just can't get over how DC shouted from the rooftops, "READ THIS ISSUE." And this is what was inside. I mean Geoff Johns was on the Late Show with Seth Meyers for god sakes. I just don't understand what they're thinking.

Quick question from a DC novice, does the issue detail how new52 Superman died? Do I need to buy Superman #52? I really just want to grab the rebirth one shots without being lost. Thanks guys.

it does detail pretty clearly what happened in #52 specifically, but doesn't go into how New 52 Superman got to that point.
When it comes to comics, one person's "fan-service" is another persons personal cannon. So by definition it's ALL fan service. Aren't we ALL fans?
SUPERMAN is the greatest fictional character ever created.

To all the people who are deliberately NOT reading "Superdad" because .... just because.... they are missing out on a great Superman story! The look on Batman and Wonder Woman's faces made the price of the comic worth it. I also liked the interactions between father and son. This issue is much better than the Superdad mini series
I have no beef with Vegans

Yeah, I was underwhelmed by the rebirth issue, and apprehensive about the Superdad/Superson dynamic, but I really enjoyed the first issue. It's worth a shot. Great job by the creative team.
