There was no need to apologize. There isn't anything wrong with the billboard. Or are we slowly heading to a point where female characters can't be in any danger in fiction?

We've already been in that point, and that was the 30's through the most of 60's. Do we really want to go back to those times in the name of "progress"?

Ban all women in super-hero movies, there shouldn't be man on woman violence.

Double standard at work. If it was Psylocke jamming her psychic knife into someone's skull no one would have made a peep.

Well at least it was kinda alright in the sense that it depicts how the women in the X-movies were treated so far. For a franchise with so many strong female characters it has been clearly dominated by white men so far(Wolverine, Xavier, Magneto).

Also Marvel is moving ahead with the Captain Marvel movie and there is potential for a Black Widow one.
DC does the same with Wonder Woman and potential Harley Quinn stuff.
What's going on over at Fox? Nothing.

Fox still has at lot of catching up to do which is funny considering their head start.

There was a long period of time in Hollywood where women could not be harmed or put in peril if there was any sort of violence happening in the film, mostly in the 30's through the 60's. Go ahead, watch any of the "black and whites" that have some sort of violence in them and count how many hurt women. Also count how many women were allowed to be dynamic characters in any film that had violence in it. The percentage of both is atrocious.

You must not have seen many of the cliffhanger serials from the 30-50s. There were plenty of women in peril who were also dynamic characters although only the villainesses ended up getting killed in the end.

So I know this is a TV/Film comic book forum and not current events. But really upsets me is when a topic like this is in the news splashed around while really horrific tragic events about violence against women is pushed back. For example the latest incident in Brazil, which is extremely disgusting http://www.cnn.com/2016/05/27/americ...-social-media/.

No, I don't think Fox needs to apologize for this billboard.

The gang rape of an innocent 16 year old in no way equates to a super villain choking a superhero.
