Now correct me if I'm wrong. But didn't really just undue what the Reverse Flash originally caused. I could swear I remember that he told Barry since he could kill his younger self he would kill hiss mother to stop Barry from becoming the Flash. So in essence, didn't he fix what the Reverse flash created and actually finally restored the original timeline that both the Reverse Flash and the Flash that traveled into the past to stop him came from?

So in essence, didn't he fix what the Reverse flash created and actually finally restored the original timeline that both the Reverse Flash and the Flash that traveled into the past to stop him came from?

It's not entirely clear.

Timeline A--Barry becomes the Flash later, has encounters with Thawne, and they both race back in time, at which point Thawne kills his mom, creating a new timeline I'll call B.

Timeline B--Barry becomes the Flash ahead of schedule, and at the end of this season goes back in time to prevent Thawne from killing his mom.

So, in theory, sure, things should revert back to timeline A. But perhaps Thawne still gets stuck in the past and manipulates things again--what else might he try to prevent the Flash from existing? That's certainly something that could make what's in the next season differ from Timeline A.


None of this really holds together considering Thawne was wiped from existence, but it is what it is.
