One of my favorite Superman moments ever.

The New 52 Superman was such a strong and well defined character.

Baka is my favorite new addition to the super myth. The kid is way to awesome. Hope they don't forget about him.

You know, for a guy who everyone says had mostly bad stories and poorly executed runs, we're finding a lot of really great, powerful moments here.

That's because the runs that were good produced a big chunk of great moments. His only real faling was that he wasn't Johns' preferred Superman. That's the only reason he was replaced. I become more confident of that every day.

Yeah, with all of the Rebirth stuff going on I was starting to feel like maybe everyone else was right; that he was poorly defined with mostly bad comics and only a few exceptions. This thread though is reminding me not only that he had a lot of damn good moments, but that there was a well defined character there as well (even if he mostly showed up in Morrison and Pak's stuff). Now that I think about it didn't they write like half of the main New 52 comics when combined? And even when Pak's stuff was caught up in editorial nonsense, he still had that clearly defined interpretation of Superman there.

Anyway here's one of my favourite moments.

I did like the beginning of Action Comics. It was very dynamic.

I particularly loved the "torture" scene. Because you could tell Superman just found it all HILARIOUS.

I also loved Superman's quick appearance in Doomed! where Clark decided to give Reiser a chance and not just view him as a walking, well, Doomsday. The art was here and there (particularly since this was the somewhat odd depowered Superman phase) but I did like how it really did boil down to Superman's good nature and willingness to take chances to have people prove themselves.

Default New52 Superman Gets Drunk (Kind Of)

From Superman #40. After superflaring, Superman finds himself temporarily powerless, but able to enjoy food and beverages as a human for the first time. Batman asks him to buy the gang dinner:

To me, this was a golden era for Superman. No era is perfect, but this character is the Superman I really like.

    Him quitting the DP.

Then Cat joining him in that Jerry McGuire like plot.

This was always funny to me

That last page is some of the worst of New 52 Superman.

So very little from Lobdell that I thought was actually any good.

Eh different strokes for different folks.

But the idea of Clark quitting the Daily Planet and doing his own thing was probably one of the smartest ideas that was never properly followed up. Dammit Johns. Well beats Diggle's one arm Superman.

That part I liked. It's something I wish had stuck around longer and handled by better writers.

It's the burning of the Ipads that I don't like.
