Only one? Then it'd be this:

They can make changes, of course - but gradually. The approach shouldn't suddenly change with a new team.

IE, ignoring the fact Rachel Grey had total control of the Phoenix Force because the writer wants to force the "Phoenix is an uncontrollable force of destruction and we can't let it approach earth!" should NEVER be allowed to happen. If a story doesn't work because past history is in the way, CHANGE THE DAMN STORY.
It's bad enough this attitude ruined the Ultimate Universe years before they finally gave it its mercy killing (and that they decided to keep not only the best character (plus his supporting cast) but also the worst one to come out of all the awful events that befell the universe again and again after editorial gave Jeph Loeb - who practically prided himself on having no knowledge of nor respect for its characters - free rein on it), but that it also keeps happening to the main Marvel Universe (which, however, naturally has thicker protection against destruction) is just atrocious.

And, of course, I have my share of characters (and plot points) I'd like to see come back, ranging from the rather obscure (e.g. Maxwell Jordan) to the less known (e.g. those Academy X kids that survived K&Y's mindless slaughterfest) to the more popular (e.g. various classic supporting characters) to the most prominent (e.g. adult Jean Grey). Alas, I ain't in control.
Death's Head, Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man, House of X, Powers of X.
Ascender, DIE, Saga, The Wicked + The Divine.
Adventures of the Super Sons, Batman Beyond, Catwoman, Lois Lane, Naomi, Young Justice.

Get rid of Disney altogether. IMO they are ruining Marvel right now with their mandatory diversity and new comics. They've harmed the FF and X-Men, shamelessly promoted the Inhumans and Captain Marvel, and forced Marvel to take a bunch of chances on new books all with the hopes that a bunch of them can make it to the big screen and be a new franchise for Disney.

ANAD is just practice run for Disney to see what can possibly be movie magic at the expense of long time readers.

Or how about G. Willow Wilson or Marguerite Bennett get a shot at defining the franchise? Wilson's adjectiveless X-Men arc was a lot of fun, and Bennett's Years of Future Past was one of my favourite Secret Wars titles. Or perhaps bring back Marjorie Liu to write the flagship X-title, rather than a tertiary title? Maybe give Felipe Smith a shot. Or David Walker.

Basically, instead of Yet Another Straight White Guy running the franchise that serves as a metaphor for marginalized groups, why not give to job to someone who belongs to a marginalized group.

Disney is not the reason Marvel is on a big diversity push right now. Disney has zero shits to give what Marvel's publishing division does, as long as it doesn't stop making money. Marvel's current direction is a result of Marvel editorial feeling it's necessary both morally and, more important, for long-term survival by trying to appeal to new readers.

Out of those writers all I can really say is that Willow was fun but absolutely did not have as remarkable an X-Men run as Gillen or Carey.

Wilson got one damn arc. And it was a fun arc that showed a solid grasp of the characters involved. Beyond that, Gillen and Carey have had their runs. We've seen their X-Men stories. Why go backwards? Why not get someone who hasn't had a chance yet, and keep the franchise moving forward? Why do people always want to try to re-capture previous magic, rather than look for new magic?

I'm a Gillen fanboy and loved his X-Men stuff. I enjoyed Carey's X-Men stuff. I'm not all that interested in having either of them return to the franchise, because I'd much rather see something new. And preferably someone who belongs to a real-world marginalized group, because holy ****, the X-Men franchise, which is about a marginalized group, has never had someone from a marginalized group writing a primary title. It's always straight white dudes. The most prominent X-writer not to fall into that is Marjorie Liu, who was given Astonishing X-Men after it had already become a tertiary title.

So get a woman on the main X-title. Or a person of colour. Or a woman of colour. Or an LGBT person, or someone with a disability. Just not yet another straight white guy. I want the franchise to be helmed by someone who is genuinely different from what we've seen before.

If I could change one other thing I'd have only one book for each team, but publish additional team books so something like:

    FF
    Avengers
    X-Men
    Midnight Sons
    Defenders
    New Warriors
    Marvel Team-Up
    X-Force
    Ultimates
    Inhumans
    Lady Liberators
    Thunderbolts
    The Brotherhood of Mutants
    I’m on board with this

Plus I would make sure that everyone had a codename of their own so no two Thors or Two Captain America's even the Hawkeyes, have each person come up with a codename that is their own.
    Truth is the best policy

I'm not saying going from one straight white writer to another is the ONLY thing I'd want to change. Just the first thing is getting Lemire of Extraordinary. Who is a really good writer, and can be considered "new magic", but has proven to not be great fit for the X-Men. Just like Brubaker. And it's not like Gillen was on X-Men spinning his wheels for years and years. Not as long as Bendis on Avengers or Morrison on New X-Men. I'm not familiar with these other writers you're suggesting and wasn't that impressed with Willow specifically. (And strongly disagreed with some of Lui's choices).

Honestly? Just replace Slott and give TASM to someone else. Or just launch a more traditional Spider-Man book. it can be Ben, Kaine, Ock, i don't care, I love all 3, I just want a traditional Spider-Book. And before some says it, Miles doesn't count in my book, cause it's a teen book, and I don't want that. I want an adult Spider-Man, dealing with Spider-Man villains, adult responsibillities and the like. Spider-Man hasn't been a teen for years so no, for me at least, Miles doesn't count as a "traditional" Spider-Book. Not a knock at him or anything, but like with Web-Warriors, the Spider-Line is filled with lots of strange and fringe books, while not delivering even one "classic" Spider-Man book. So, yeah, that's it... But, apart from that, the price point needs to be lowered, and the season model should just stop already.

Shove X-Men into their own reality/universe where they're the only powered people.

It's a "High School" book, and as I said above, I don't consider that a "traditional" Spider-Man book.

I read the first issue, but couldn't determine whether they were trying to sell this as earth-616 or not.

Here's the position I'm personally in, and I don't think it's that rare.

I used to love the X-Men. I was a big fan for years... ever since I was little. I am currently not buying a single X-Book. I hate that there's nothing coming out of that franchise that I want to read anymore.

... so it's easy to wish to go back to a time when the writers were producing stories you loved... to go back to a reliable, known quantity... rather than crossing your fingers and hoping somebody new will fix it. (As the 'new magic' may have driven you away from the title in the past.)

(And don't forget... I think nostalgia is a very, very, very powerful force in comic fandom.)
