The biggest "unpopular" opinion I have is that the early 90s X-Men uniforms were completely flawless. I felt like every costume was a natural extension of the characters wearing them. I firmly believe that no human will ever be capable of designing better looking, more interesting costumes. Which leads me to the main complaint I have: STOP CHANGING COSTUMES!!! I hate (HATE!!) that most superheroes seem allowed to keep their costumes and colors with only minor changes and tweaks to them. But yet it seems that there is some unwritten law that deems the X-Men MUST get new uniforms every few years. Few things kill my interest more quickly than having to read about characters in a visual medium that are no longer interesting or appealing to look at. Marvel believes new costumes somehow keep things "fresh" but that belief most certainly does not apply to me. If I am reading a comic then visual recognition/admiration is essential. I can not name one costume change since 1995 that I felt benefitted or "fit" the character better than what they had previously.

If it were up to me, I would hold a poll and ask the fans which uniforms they liked best. Whichever costumes won, they would then become the official definitive uniforms such as Superman, Batman, Spider-Man, etc. get to have (again with only minor tweaks) and would only change temporarily to fit certain storylines (such as space suits). But I want permanent, iconic uniforms for all the X-Men instead of people who believe that they have something to prove by coming in and ruining a characters appearance every 4 years with their own crappy, inferior designs. Save that stuff for the alternate universe books and leave the main X-book uniforms alone!
Some bands I love: Katatonia, Tool, Flaw, Within Temptation, Breaking Benjamin, Evergrey, The Panic Division, Bush, The Birthday Massacre, Silverchair ('94-'01), Poets Of The Fall, Lacuna Coil, Autumn, Klone, A Perfect Circle, Starset, This Misery Garden, Evanescence, Dead Letter Circus, Pallbearer, The Foreshadowing & tons more!

For my probably unpopular and controversial opinion of the X-verse, it deals with the current ANAD X-line. I actually am pretty fond of Hopeless and Bagley's All-New X-Men. I absolutely love the lineup (good to see that Jean Grey school students are being forgotten and the annoying know-it-all is on the Ex-Men) and the creative team really delves into each member and how each mission and storyline affects them. While the characterizations of a certain character may be shaky, it has gotten better.

I also dropped Uncanny X-Men for the same reason I avoided its first arc, Greg Land. I absolutely despise artists that either is known for drawing seductive women or use porn as a trace. And while I got the first three issues of its Apocalypse Wars tie-in, the more solicitations for future issues had Greg Land as the artist. I hoped, prayed even that it was just as a guest artist but if Ken Lashley was just drawing for an arc, then what is the use for going on anymore. It was the same reason I couldn't keep following Mighty Avengers even if Al Ewing was doing some of his best work on that book. Same with this run, Cullen Bunn is doing a stellar job but that art is just not for me. The sad thing is that when Greg Land doesn't trace, his artwork isn't even that bad.

I've got one opinion but is far too extreme to even mentioning so I won't

Now I'll go for an easy one, I wish Marvel would had killed Cyclops at the end of AvX and saving the mutant race at the same time, thus giving his progression a logical ending, then go with jean to the afterlife. Of course that'd fragmented the X men in the Uncanny faction and the Storm faction faster than it has happened now...

Maybe I overstated my opinion, it's not like I want the x men to kill all the inhumans or something like that...
It's something else. I think it might affect my credibility, well nevermind here it comes

I liked chuck austen X men... Wait don't crucify me yet... I liked it the same way you like one of those parodies of terror movies like scary movie (the OK ones), it's an over the top abomination of what the X men are meant to be but I laughed so much through the whole thing. It was funny as hell and considering the fact that everything after that happened in it was ignored it's better read as an standalone x men parody that had no effect on X men continuity. Here I say it!

Oh. . . . .I was expecting something like "all the adult X-Men should've become Avengers after AxV" or something equally absurd.

-I believe all alternate timeline characters should either be killed or be made into an Exiles type of team.

-I like Glob, Martha and Ernst.

    -Deathbird and Bishop 4 life!

-Lifeguard I actually liked. Slipstream not so much.

ok, AvX was the logical end for cyclops and...

Magneto had to die in their logical end in 1991

Cyclops is too good development to let him die ..
    therefore...
Cyclops has entered in the "Magneto cycle". Marvel not have a better mutant leader that cyclops,
in the same way that it could not present a better villain that Magneto on 90´s.
therefore in the 90 Marvel again and again resorted to Magneto, and among comings and goings magneto was "somewhere" to give opportunity to minor villains.
As mutants are always on the brink of extinction and can not find a leader better that Cylops.. Marvel will resort to Cyclops again and again, and among comings and goings Cyclops is "somewhere" to give opportunity to minor leaders,.
as Cyclops out of this?????? then stop wanting to exterminate the mutant a race and again and again

Lifeguard I could deal with even though she was a typical Claremazon (strong female character with powerful abilities and identity/body issues).

Speaking of Austen, did people like Hero Juggernaut? Maybe it's just my unhealthy empathizing with anyone who feels resentful or jealous of their brother, but I always liked Cain and felt sorry for him. I think it was nice to see him on the good side.

To be sincere, I have more sympathy for him and Sabertooth than for Captain America and Iron Man.

....that's certainly a controversial opinion, I must admit. I suppose neither Steve nor Tony had anywhere near as bad a childhood as these two but, then again, neither Steve or Tony have killed god knows how many people for no real reason. Then again, I don't think Cain has all the blood on his hands that Sabes does.
