I think Thor and Hyperion were ok. But it really made captain america, iron man, namor major a-holes. ok eveyone on iluminatii was a a-hole for mindwiping Steve.

From what i get many didn't like Zub take on champions, that he destroyed the team

True and Hickman didn't said that he would do it. The right time might not even come. After some time it just not interesting or even important anymore

Nobody appearing only in Avengers was an asshole, except for Spider-Ock, for obvious reasons.

Everyone appearing in NA (including Steve) was an asshole, but by design. Just the fact they got the band together and decided to keep these events a secret was a mistake that was always going to lead to it.

Also the criticism of Rosenberg and Guggenheim weren't about their long term plans but more on how what happened in each subsequent issue was worse than the previous. Rosenberg at least (Can't speak about Guggs wasn't paying too much attention then) had a fair amount of good will at the beginning, it started to wane as his book descended into new depths of despair porn.

The biggest difference I've noted (purely my own opinion) is that the criticism for Guggenheim and Rosenberg was about what they did in the comic being terrible (We get it, Kitty is the most magical perfect wondrous... oh look Prestige got mind-controlled and Storm's unconscious... Kitty to the rescue/Dear God why did you kill Blindfold/Wolfsbane/Havoc etc. etc. etc), whereas the criticism for DoX has usually been around assumptions not backed up by evidence (Marauders/Kitty are murdering humans) and complaints about whats not in the books (why aren't they showing us mutants who don't like Krakoa)
I saw people criticizing contends of the book, for example characterization, bad villains.

Nobody in FF was an asshole either (except Valeria and Doom obviously). Even Reed went through the obligatory lesson to appreciate his family more.

The biggest problem with Zub's Champions was that this was the interesting stuff and he waited 9 months to get to it. I say this as a hypocrite who dropped the book when the relaunch started because I'm sick of Mephisto being everywhere while somehow also still being in prison.

I think Marvel saw the writing on the wall for Fallen Angels. Not great reception, art isn't up to Marvel standards imo and the writer has other commitments that he decided took more priority. I think they were probably hard pressed to find a writer that could save the title. Sure they could've given a new writer a shot but that is always a gamble.

I would bet dollars to donuts we'll see more mutants who aren't completely sold on the idea of Krakoa. Hell Logan is leaning that way pretty hard in X-Force.

Which is extra frustrating for me, because those stories sound infinitely more interesting than all of DoX. We never even got to see Logan reunite with his family!

I actually agree with Domino_Dare.Doll and pkingdom quite a bit about the current stories. I'm not a fan of Hickman's HoX/PoX and I got a catty response recently in an Appreciation thread I frequent from someone I usually got a long well with no less. What is it about Hickman that people are grasping on to it like its some important holy grail? Whats different from him than the other writers that have been criticized? And since when did you have to hide out in here if you didn't like the current writing? This is still CBR, right? Probably some of the most critical fans ever in existence. Welp, I called his writing boring and pretentious and since there is no going back from it... can I add I don't like his dialogue? Nope? Well... I'm doing it anyways since its the controversial opinion thread for a reason. *scrams*

Well I love HOX/POX and the current status quo, but I hated Hickman's writing of Jean on HOX and feel like 4 issues in his "X-Men" is quite underwhelming, so yeah, I get how ridiculous it is that people just straight up don't accept criticism of anything he does.

criticism should be something writers of characters, specifically iconic character, should expect. as long as it is constructive and not made personal against the creative team I see no issue with this.

The criticism is so over top and not in line reality that you have no choice but to defend it. Is Hickman run perfect? No. Is Hickman run same quality Marc Guggenheim "X-men Gold" or Matt Rosenberg "Uncanny"? No. Anyways Hickman is easier to defend than most writers because he is proven long term planner and the complete picture more than often works out. Criticism is fine but more than often the book keeps tell you it is not criticism people are dishing out and yet people keep saying certain stuff. For example

People keep saying X-men run is cult like

And we keep getting more and more information tell us that is not the case. Yet you keep seeing threads going up hey X-men are cult like. Hickman has his flaws but more than often the complaints about the set up isn't really his flaws or so exaggerated that we have no choice but go hey that isn't really right. When someone says Hickman is being "lazy" but a book about the very thing they are complaining about is coming and will probably flesh out all the issues you have no choice but say something. Anyways this is a forum for interaction you give opinion, somebody might have opinion on that opinion. It is amazing the amount of people willing to give critique without being ready to be critique themselves.

In other words, the Lelouch argument: The only ones who should be allowed to Do X are those who are willing to Have X Done to them as well.

The Lelocuch argument seems fair, what he talked himself into doing using it? not so much

It`s fair to criticize in fact Hickman may be doing most of his ambigous writting to have fans talking about the story, I just take comfort in the fact that at least the X-men have not yet try to destroy a planet. I just want more in character conversations between the characters so we can get a sense of their state of mind at the moment, indeed how Xavier sell to the X-men the idea of Krakoa, I guess we will see some of that, just not yet, because that`s part of the mistery of the story.

Definitely can't argue. Seen it happen so many times. It's so, so easy to promise these things, but when it comes to actually delivering? Well. Bet ya they'll 'conveniently' run out of room for it or such. Hell, ya could set up a whole spinning wheel of reasons...
