I really hate when they show Storm’s flight as levitation. She uses her cape as a kind of parachute while using thermal updrafts to lift her into the air. Her cape should be attached to her wrists and her hair should be whipping upwards etc. her just floating there looks mad stupid.

Yesssss shit should be flying all over. It would take huge gusts to lift a person.

It’s not like they were used raised together. If a current writer wrote the ship with care it could work but the previous basis for it isn’t great.

I always thought of it as more or a tornado force wind and she was pretty much throwing herself....with style.

Them being together for a little over a year when she's 14 and he's in the 19-20 range is an issue. Even if she had been in the 16-17 range it would be a little easier to swallow, but she's middle school aged. Her crushing on him is fine, the reciprocation when she's still that young is the problem. The editor (I believe it was Jim Shooter) shutting that stuff down was the right call.

Yeah, most states have exceptions in their age of consent laws to account for this. So long as the elder partner is within X number years of the younger it will get a pass.

Exactly. What gets me is that its been nearly 40 years and people still have not let that go. It amounted to a 2 month relationship that didnt go anywhere. Its nowhere near as nefarious as people build it up to be

Also, the fact that the main arc everyone points to is one that deals with the fact that Laura is self-destructive and probably suicidal. To the point she not only decided to see if Jubilee would drain her dry, but made no effort to even STOP her. There is SO MANY levels of sheer wrongness to the whole thing.

Exactly. Laura was self-mutilating a couple a panels before (and could have almost died due to blood lost if it wasn't for her healing factor) Jubilee bit Laura. Laura was in a very dark and vulnerable place and too me that scene was never hot.

Jubilee isn't Logan's daughter. He's a father figure for her, but not an actual adoptive father.

Logan was more of a father to Jubilee than he ever was to his own children. Plus Logan very much views Jubilee as his daughter all but in name, he literally offered to buy Jubilee's childhood home for the three of them (Shogo being the third one) to live there together. Gambit even points out to Logan that he treats Jubilee like a daughter but not Laura.

I'm actually aghast at all the people here saying it's okay for a 14 years old and an 18 years old to be together just to defend a silly fictional ship. 18 years old isn't a minor, you're legally an adult at that point while at 14 you've just started puberty and don't even have wisdom teeth yet. 14 and 18 years old have nothing in common except for being teenagers. It's considered statutory rape if an 18 years old has sort of sexual contact with a literal pubescent child. There's also laws preventing minors from having sexual relations with minors 4-5+ years younger.

They didn't have SEX! Even when they were possessed with Broodlings, in deep space, thinking they were about to die, Piotr refused her direct request and said she wasn't old enough. There's no rape because they never had sex, and he explicitly respected their age differences. Not to mention she was depicted as the active/aggressive one in the dynamic. He was not grooming her. She literally jumped in his arms and kissed him from jump(under the mistletoe) and he was all like, "Ah, Kitty what are you doing(blushing)?"

Was it confirmed he was 18 for sure? Or is he slightly older? Because the All New X-Men had been together for at least a year in-universe before meeting Kitty and he reads as at least 18 from the beginning. He's the baby of the group, but still more of an adult than Kitty.

It was a high school senior who already fathered a child in the Savage Land by this point.

Kitty and Peter didn't start dating when he was under age though. He was either legally of age already if not a bit older.

Let's not forget that he said to Wolverine that he could have been married to Kitty and raising a family "by now" if they were in Russia. "By now" being when she was 14.
