Someone a few pages back was saying the mutant metaphor doesn't make sense because MU people can claim mutants are destructive.
We should note that the current playbook for Republicans and other real-life hate groups includes saying that gay people are destroying society.
In the absence of a direct quote which would allow to examine the wording used in the post and avoid mistaken interpretation made from a quick fly over read, it should be noted that because of their super powers, which have no comperable real world equivalent, individual or groups of mutants can infact be highly destructive by their lonesome and without need for any tools.
Infact there are worse things a mutant can do with their powers than just destruction. The invisible/unnoticable manipulation of minds, materials, living organisms or physical space have much more potentialy horrorfying implications than shooting fireballs from one hand.
That's the kind of danger any mutant could potentialy possess and which people in the Marvel Universe would likely remember anytime the subject of mutants is brought up.
Of course there are other people with super powers in the Marvel Universe who can perform similiar feats, of which many have become criminals or worse aswell. But they tend to have singular origins in how they came to posses these powers. While with mutants there is always this connecting tissue of the shared special gene which anyone could come to possess from nowhere.
With mutants there is no freak accident, science experiment gone wrong, magic artifact or alien energy or mystical heritage involved. It's just the constant underlying possibility of somene gaining or possesing super powers they could use for destructive or worse actions.
Overall this doesn't destroy the mutant metaphor or disqualify it from making sense, infact it adds an interesting dimension of responcibility to being "different" like they are, but it also add a serious caveat which should be considered when these stories are written and read, which can't be simply be dismissed as people just being xenophobic or racist. Because the fear of mutants and their powers has a reasonable element to it.
Nevertheless. Fear is the path to the dark side. Fear leads to anger. Anger leads to hatred. Hate leads to suffering. And the idea that giant robots controlled by AIs with questionable programming, that can level entire city blocks when hunting a single person, are the best solution to human sized people with super powers.
it doesn't matter how people get their powers, mutants or not everyone with powers should be considered dangerous not just mutants.
The magic powers are more dangerous and unstable than a mutant power have the view with wanda, any wizard to go crazy and kill everyone the students of the strange academy also have to show this at the end of the course they go home them and live among the civilians.
There are also many inhumans living among civilians, just like heroes like Carol Denver, Peter or the Fantastic 4, they could destroy New York without any problem if they decided or if they got out of control.
Then good when the goal is to exterminate all the mutants while they are all on an island or on Mars, that we attack the means of financing krakoa to prevent mutants from earning money fear n isn't really an excuse to justify what the humans of Marvel do.
Gay people don't do this:

*Kidding. Maybe.
As far as religious groups hating other people goes...

Oh, if we wanted to think of it based on real world attitudes, Thor and Dr. Strange would be 1000x more controversial than any mutant. The idea of magic, witches, demons and gods who aren't big G God running around would be pants-wettingly terrifying (to all those evangelicals with million dollar yachts and parties with prostitutes, getting the horrific notion that there might actually be gods and devils, and that they might actually reap what they sow) *and* totally sacreligious. The Scarlet Witch would have to hide behind 'just being a mutant!' and not an actual witch, to avoid people trying to kill or exorcise her of her evil taint (or, at the very least, be forbidden from being within 100 yards of a school, or to interact with children, because she's such a terrible influence corrupting those young minds with delusions of witchcraft!). And people like Ghost Rider and Daimon Hellstrom? Oh hell no. News of a community of mutants would be 'eh,' but news of New Salem, a community of witches and magical creatures *magically hidden in the middle of the US* would bring out the torches and pitchforks, and the mealy-mouthed would pretend it was all about their unlicensed invader community (some of them not even human, and others, like Salem's Seven, clearly trucking with demons!), just presuming to set up on US land while not paying taxes or whatever (as political cover for their real agenda, inciting religious fervor to put those voters in their pocketses).
Just as there are real world churches who stand up for various persecuted and unpopular minority groups, I'm sure some of them, like the Unitarians or Quakers, would be just as quick to lend their support to the mutant community. But that's not the story Marvel wants to tell. So it's all misery porn. Any human ally or relative or romantic interest of a mutant has to die a fiery death, the Carmen Prydes and Grey family and Candi Southerns and whatnot, and only the frothing psychos like Stryker and the Church of Humanity and Orchis and Xeno get to appear on page.
And yet, MU people will beat up on a random person just for merely looking different, just like real-life Republicans.
when come to mutant i always thought that there was 2 or 3 main reaosn that they were more hated than other metahuman group
1) randomness. Anyone can get superpowers. ANYONE. Is genetic lottery, so who can say if particular group eveyrone is afraid of/hate/oppress/exploit suddenly get word shattering powers?
2)Thye are not isolated nor in low numbers, their numbers even form inception, had always been showing growing.(Personal theory: Mutant manifestation increased in response of all those exotic radiation aliens, gods, Galactus and time traveler CANONICALLY emit. Eveyrtime those categories do somethign BIG there is a peak of mutants. Like Human DNA is having one hell of reaction of such unnatural events)
and 3)most mutants have powers that are not dangerous, not really useful for self defence and make them no necessarily a godlike being, making them EASY target. SUre the big scary powerful and destructive ones are the ones who elicit the fear and hate, BUT are Beaks or Gumbo Tarnation who get the heat, because they are easy to spot, find and realtively easy to kill.
On ht eother hand most metahuman ARE seen with certain level of mistrust and fear. NO ONE give spidey the befit of the doubt EVER, The thing is seen as freaky and scary at the best of times, Hulk at his nicest make the average joe SHIT HIS PANTS BY HIS MERE PRESENCE!<if angry you stand still and pray you get ignored and you end up only losing all your erthly possession to the sunday smash seriously how many people got ruined by DrBanner shenanigans?> Public tunr on the Avengers at the first public mess(by mileage may vary, sometimes they hate the avnegers for no reason, other times drunken warbird/Carol DAnvers NEARLY CAUSE AN AIRPLANE TO CRUSH but this lead to nothing) So far only the FF ( the thing is the exception) got almost scot free from being hunted with torches and pitchforks<where the hell they always get those? On etsy?>
In the old days of Marvel, a lot of random bad guys ARE Mutants. it was a brand-wide thing back then. This was before the times when they had different editors dividing the universe into sections. Guys like Solarr? Not created as an X-character... in the comics.... but a Mutant villain. The kind of guy the Avengers(specifically Captain America) might get called to handle, and the general public might see as a reason to not like Mutants.
If mutants can resurrect, and do so many other amazing things, then what does it matter if humans fear / hate them?
I mean hatred and violence suck, but when you are super strong, almost invulnerable, and can resurrect… unless you are clergy, what do you care what others think? Get on with it, whatever it is.

Krakoa, Arakko, and Otherworld forever!
The ability to recover from harm and move past trauma doesn't render harm and trauma irrelevant.
Thank you.
Folks like Synch and Prodigy have FAMILIES-who are NOT mutants.what does it matter if humans fear / hate them?
It's not like folks don't know whose Storm's former in-laws let alone family is.
And what about the mutants not living on that island?
As we saw with X-Men Academy nothing is stopping anyone from blowing away a school bus if someone thinks mutants are on it.
As we have seen with Fox News-there is nothing stopping propaganda from running wild.
