Cyclops- jumps at chance for some space faring and to blast some badoons and other belligerent ets as an escape and cleansing from the the difficult consequences of some of his more questionable descisions over the years., Emma.... Xavier murdering and what not.


Moondragon- Empathizes with Cyclops. The two slowly forge a a strong but often thorny friendship. Actually I think I'll split this into two rosters. So roster 1 ends with Moondragon....

If I were to really give the concept of Guardians of the Galaxy the treatment it deserves, I'd probably start this way:

1) Define my parameters. The Guardians of the Galaxy are guardians of the Milky Way Galaxy. Anything beyond that is kind of out of their jurisdiction, though see below.
2) Actually have a group that could, realistically, be seen to respond to galaxy-wide threats. Essentially, you'd need a tremendously large group, so I'd have Rich Rider return and restart the Nova Corps.
3) They'd also need a diplomatic branch, in order to reach out to extra-galactic alliances for those out of galaxy occurrences that might be of concern (alliances such as the Shi'ar Borderers and/or Imperial Guard, the Kree, etc.)

As for core members of the Guardians for administration and field leadership:

1) Nova (Rich Rider)
2) Star-Lord (the Giffen/DnA version)
3) Adam Warlock
4) Moondragon
5) Maxam (I always liked this Starlin character from the Infinity Watch days)
6) Quasar (Wendell Vaughn; if I couldn't use him as Quasar because of the new one, I'd still keep Wendell as a civilian advisor)
7) Mantis

I'd probably also have Starfox as the attaché to Titan (and likely involved with the Diplomatic Corps). Could work in others, too, but that's a good start.
