    Except that said noncontroversial statement has not always been correct. I've been reading long enough to have seen stories here and there where a character was highlighted in a good story but due to the writer's dislike or other feelings toward said character, that character was killed, maimed, turned into a villain or had something else bad befall them much to the disappointment of fans of that character.

    I guess it is largely because Goyer was in charge of DCEU's stories and he's quite dismissive of Martian Manhunter, so J'onn got pushed aside for cross-media synergy.
