This issue was alright but I feel like each issue of this series has been a bit less impressive than the last. The first issue was incredible and delivered a fully-realized world with intriguing characters. Second issue slowed things down a bit but had the great football scene and the big ending. But what really happened here? This issue felt very low on story progression, like you could have skipped it and missed very little.
I feel like as Image trades continue to do really well in the market, we're starting to see more creator-owned books written for the trade, and that's what this felt like here. The creative execution of this series is on point (dialogue and art are perfect), but if it becomes little more than "Earl beats up some people with a stick" I will probably move on.
