I thought an interesting alt universe could be one where Captain America rescues a young Erik Lensherr and the boy becomes Bucky, the magnetic kid. His control over his power goes haywire or isn't strong enough to take down the plane and Steve, wanting to save the young boy's life, pushes him off and disables the bomb on the plane, Erik barely surviving as he floats out of the water upon regaining consciousness but can't find his hero. Cue the government having Erik take upon the mantle of Captain America and living up to his name, controversy abound as he's the first public mutant. I figure he meets professor Xavier while hunting down HYDRA and Xavier helps him find the frozen captain. A tearful reunion happens and things will never be the same

All three of Mystique's children Nightcrawler, Rogue, and Grayden Creed are raised together. Nightcrawler would be named Michael Darkholme and have the same personality as the 616 version but still have a mistrust of humans. He would also be very attached to his siblings. Rogue would be the same as she is in the normal universe as well and be very attached to her older foster brothers. Grayden Creed the oldest would be an influential politician who is outspoken about mutant rights and his position as a senator helps as a front to the Brotherhood of Mutants' schemes. He is still a normal human being in this universe but is a major source to his mother because of the fact he convince people to be for the mutant cause. He and his very close to his younger siblings and is protective of them both. He doesn't take kindly to those who insult Michael's appearance.

Earth-TRN239 (Canadian Advancements, in other words, a universe where the main heroes are Canadian)

Captain Canada (analogue to Captain America): Canadian soldier Stephen G. Frobisher is turned into the world's first super-soldier, becoming a rallying symbol for all Canadians. After years of being frozen, he's reawakened into modern times and takes command of the Avengers of the North, Canada's greatest superhero team. His signature weapon is a round shield adorned with a Maple Leaf design. (FACT: He at first wore the colors of the Red Ensign, the former Canadian flag in the 1940s, but would later change to the red-white Maple Leaf upon his revival in modern times)

Man of Iron (analogue to Iron Man): Born with a skin literally made of iron, Anthony Stark grafts a suit of armor onto his iron skin to become the ultimate armored hero. A member of the Avengers of the North.

Sasquatch (analogue to Hulk/Sasquatch): Bruce Banner is cursed to become the mythical creature known as the Sasquatch whenever he's put under great emotional stress.

Nelvana of the Northern Lights (analogue to Thor): A mythical being, daughter of a mortal woman and the King of the Northern Lights. She uses powers manifested from the Northern Lights itself to protect Canada against all that would threaten her homeland.

Red Hornet (analogue to the Wasp): Jeannette LeDuc s a French-Canadian socialite who can shrink and grow, fly, and fire blasts of bioenergy at her enemies. She is a founding member of the Avengers of the North.

S.H.I.E.L.D.: The Strategic High-Intelliegence Emergency Logistics Division, a Canadian-run government agency that supervises the Avengers initiative. Headed by WWII hero Nicholas J. Fury.

    ------

Those are the mains. May do other characters if interest is strong.

Adding to the reality I devised in an earlier post:

    Earth-79928

    • Superheroines played a larger part in early (Silver Age) Marvel. Due to Stan Lee's notorious difficulty with writing compelling female characters in the '60s, there weren't a lot of superheroines to be had. There was Invisible Girl, Marvel Girl, and Wasp, and that was pretty much it until Scarlet Witch and Black Widow went straight and joined the Avengers. This particular reality beefs up that number by giving stronger roles to the women who had since been retconned into those early years. In the comics, they were given in-story reasons for not being present and/or not having a huge impact on the Marvel Universe, but in this reality, they were present, and they did have an impact.

Amelia Voght stayed on as Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters' resident physician for the original run of the X-Men team. Her disillusionment with Xavier and his methods didn't happen until the Hidden years era.

Sage, Tusa Khan, was one of Charles' very first recruits. She was there for the formation of the school, and she helped design Cerebro. She was one of the original X-Men, meaning by the time Jean joined the school in X-Men #1, there was already a girl at the school; the boys didn't act as if they'd never seen a teenaged girl before. Her powers are limited to cyberpathy, meaning she's not a mutant power detector/jumpstarter. She eventually ended up in the Hellfire Club as a spy, alias Tessa, but again, that didn't happen until the Hidden years era, just to avoid the utter creepiness of sending a teenager into the Hellfire Club.

As Jewel, Jessica Jones proved to be better at the use of her powers than the canon showed. While the point of the Alias series was showing someone who was bad at superheroing and burned out early, she managed to fare better here, going on to eventually join the Avengers. She still had plenty of personality conflicts with other characters, because she's Jessica, after all. It wasn't completely smooth sailing; she still became Knightress in the early '90s.

Bluebird, Sally Avril, managed not to die in the Untold Tales of Spider-Man series. She retired as a hero by college, with a few returns to the costume since then. But mostly she figured out that her athletic career was a lot more important than costumed thrillseeking. As an adult, she coached an Olympic gymnastics team, married and divorced Jason Ionello within the same year, went on to become a personal trainer, and briefly dated Flash Thompson.

    Earth 303-
Doctor Octopus is dying, but he has one final plan. As he dies, his mechanical arms detach, and attach themselves to his nemesis-Spider-Man. Shunned by his friends, outcast by the Avengers, and unable to lead a normal life, Peter lives inside the Bar with No Name, a safe haven for villains, befriending some of his former foes (such as Shocker and Boomerang). One day, when Peter saw Shocker being attacked by the Punisher, he fought the Punisher, and saved Shocker's life. He then made a promise-to use his greater powers for a greater responsibility-to free the villain community that was being oppressed by the heroes whom he once admired......

A world where the 50 States Initiative never desolved, and eventually lead to a world wide super powered arms race. Complete with smaller GDP nations and "thrid world" countries creating Superpower hacks, and repulsor bombs like in The Five Nightmares.

Eventually this causes the Illuminati to collapse and a UN/League of Nations is born in its place to regulate Global Super Dynamics.

Earth 7997 - A world where the Heroes never returned from the Heroes Reborn World. The Avengers are reformed to stop Baron Zemo’s plans and the Thunderbolts. The Victory is costly. Atlas/Goliath and Techno/Fixer perish. Mach-1, Songbird and Meteorite go to jail (no redemption for this bunch). Zemo escapes to fight another day. Still a little bit discredited, the Avengers restructure themselves as a crisis team under the auspices of SHIELD, new owners of Avengers Mansion. Many of the current Avengers go on taking care of their own business, and only reunite at one of the members’ or at Shield’s bidding. They are:

    The Avengers-
    • Black Widow – Natasha Romanov, leader. Feels good to be back working for Shield, but intends to make sure that the organization doesn’t misuse Earth’s Mightiest Heroes.
    • Black Knight – Back on Earth, wielding the Sword of Light and the Shield of Night, Dane Whitman is once again acting field leader for the Black Widow. He enlists the Avengers help in protecting Avalon from a mysterious menace. Alongside Eros of Titan, the Black Knight is the Avengers resident genius.
    • Hercules - Back to full power, the Lion of Olympus is the Avengers mainstay in terms of power. He roams the Earth making sure that his Olympian Brothers don’t stir too much trouble.
    • Starfox – Eros of Titan brings additional muscle and scientific knowledge to the team. The new not full time arrangement of the team works very well for Eros, who prefers roaming the Earth and the galaxy looking for adventure and romance.
    • Captain Marvel – Arguably, Monica Rambeau is the Avengers most powerful member. She is trying to start her own business, but commuting from New Orleans is a blink of an eye away for someone who can travel at the speed of light.
    • Tigra – A mainstay of the WCA who is more than happy to step up in this hour of need for the team. Greer Nelson usually prefers to hang around the west coast, where she has business, but is there for the team when they need her.
    • Quicksilver – Pietro Maximoff lost his wife and his sister to the Onslaught tragedy, and is trying to find a place for himself as leader of the Knights of Wundagore, as well a find out how to be a single father, but is a faithful member of the team.

After the Thunderbolts scare, and the Avengers returning to business in a slightly different way, people seem more comfortable with heroes they can have a little bit more control over, and nothing says control better than being able to hire your own team. Heroes for Hire becomes the World’s Most Popular Team. They are:

    H4H –

    • Iron Fist – Daniel Rand. Team leader and martial arts expert.
    • Power Man – Luke Cage, second in command and muscle for the team.
    • White Tiger – The mysterious White Tiger doesn’t remain long with the team, returning to her original animal form after killing Man Wolf. She is replaced by:
    • Arachne – Jessica Drew dons again a uniform and the costumed identity of Arachne when she adds her super-strength, her agility and her ability to stick to walls to the H4H ranks. Jess is also the H4H master detective.
    • Ant-Man – Scott Lang is the H4H infiltrator and their technological expert
    • Thena – The Eternal finds a home with H4H and is their resident powerhouse.
    • The original Human Torch – Jim Hammond has regained much of his power, and, although he prefers working behind the scenes and being mission coordinator and business manager for the H4H, when necessary, he can add his considerable power to the team’s ranks.
    • Jolt – After the Thunderbolts were defeated by the Avengers, Helen “Hallie” Takahama was considered an innocent dupe, and was made legal ward of the Rand Foundation, with Daniel Rand named her legal guardian. Due to child endangerment issues, Hallie is not allowed to join the team regularly on missions, but she becomes quite a media friendly face associated with H4H. With her agility, stamina and energized punches, Jolt does occasionally help the team when necessary. At first, suspicious of everyone, due to her bad experience with the Thunderbolts, Hallie eventually does grow to accept the core H4H team as her new family, and becomes best friends with Cassie, Scott Lang’s young daughter.

The H4H recruit operatives as needed. Among constant allies of the team are Spider-Man, Black Cat, the Prowler, Doc Samson and Daredevil.

Jim Rhodes, with the help of the interdimensional teleporter Century manages to acquire funding for the continued operation of Force Works, an emergency response unit that operates out of the west coast of the US. Force Works uses the Caos Vault to help them predict hotspots of activity where their help can be needed. They are:

    Force Works –
    • Counterforce – Carl Walker, formerly Clay Wilson, the original Force, helps Rhodey redesign the Force armor, adding on some of Tony Stark’s designs making it more powerful than ever, and allowing Rhodes to lead Force Works from the frontlines as Counterforce. The Counterforce armor gives Rhodes super-strength, supersonic speed flight capabilities, the capacity of generating force fields, firing a variety of energy beams, generating EMPs and great sensory capabilities.
    • USAgent – John Walker is FW’s second in command with his super-strength and his photon-shields.
    • Spider Woman – Julia Carpenter. Super-strength, agility and psionics webs.
    • Century – FW powerhouse with the strength, knowledge and fighting skills of a hundred beings, plus Parallax, his incredible weapon which allows him to teleport.
    • Firebird – Rhodes convinces former west coast Avenger Bonita Juarez to join FW with her fiery abilities.
    • Black Goliath – Biochemist and cybernetics expert Bill Foster joins FW mostly in a technological capability, but doesn’t hesitate to lend his size changing abilities and his great strength to the team when needed.
    • Cybermancer – With the help of Carl Walker and Bill Foster, Suzi Endo retro-engineers the Cybermancer armor from her dimensional counterpart, making even many improvements, and uses it to join FW on the field. Flight, hard light shield, techno-empathy, explosive armor piercing diamonds, etc…

Zemo’s new Masters of Evil – Zemo refuses to give up his dreams of power and soon returns with a new Masters of Evil to plague the world.

    • Baron Zemo
    • Moonstone
    • Mr. Hyde
    • Joystick
    • Arim Zola
    • Whirlwind

Mutants become more and more segragated from the rest of society, making Mutants threats a constant on this world that may be heading for an all-out war. Other threats that soon surface in this new world are: Kang, the Thinker, the Frightful Four, Morgana Le Fey, The Master, etc...
And Dr. Strange gathers a new Defenders....

    Peace
