Default a kingpin monthly series? I'm intrigued....

but at the same time skeptical because the kingpin has always been a villain that works best as the obstacle to someone like daredevil or spider-man he's not really someone you can make an exciting series out of unless you really get creative since he's gonna be more of a slow plotting and merciless villain rather than someone who carries around a big gun and shoots up the place or someone who wears a costume and gets into huge super fights all the time

Is this the guy who's writing the Civil War II tie-in? How's that so far?

The concept is interesting. The writing is solid.

The art is unique, and I could see how it might be a turn off, but it's an interesting change of pace without being ugly, lazy, or muddy.

Deserves to checked out once...not every book has to be about sappy teen romance and editorial issues with popular heroes being married for years on end. Kingpin keeping his world under control by any means necessary is like writing a Godfather or organized crime POV book. Of course it can be done.

I'm guessing for the first major story arc he will be facing off a rival mob kingpin that wants his territory. Of course the rival will be more ruthless and either be into a kiddie porn ring or selling illegal women sex slaves so the readers will be rooting for Kingpin.

Both of which the Kingpin was involved with.

I almost feel I'd be more interested in a prequel comic about his rise to power sort of in a Godfather kind of way.

who else thinks this book should be like the kingpin was in the 90's spider-man cartoon?

by that i mean an imposing intimidating figure who constantly interacts with super-villains and even hires some of them to do the dirty work for him

have the book be about his influence on the marvel universe and what the other super villains think of him...have it be about his encounters with those super villains

don't just make it a generic mafia book where he simply deals with low level thugs and robbers

make it about him and the supervillain community
