Well, it is a different Gwen who is a lot younger. Not the same as if it was the original, so it really shouldn't bother fans of Peter (I'm one who thinks Gwen was his one true
love, too).

She's still an alternate version of one of Peter Parker's most iconic love interests and of someone Miles knew in the Ultimate universe, and who was a friend/confidante (who Ganke kissed). Within that context, it's still very awkward.

She's also a few years older then he is.

They've also hardly ever interacted with each other.

I do, as other people have been saying, hope that there's more to the lineup than this. I mean, there are a few adventurous and risky comics that there always are, but I'm kinda left wanting.

EDIT: Oh, whoops, I didn't realize you were talking about the solos for characters like Slapstick and Foolkiller. Yeah, I don't think those are lasting long.

Not really that fussed on most of these new titles, but there may be a few surprises in amongst them all.

It worked for Spider-Man why not Deadpool. Almost all the spider-line solos were Peter's supporting cast. The success of Mercs solo will depend on who the senior editor for this line.
