Default Cover Contest - July 13-19 2016 - Interdimensional Portals!

Feel like getting away for the summer? Maybe to a different dimension? This week's theme is:

    Interdimensional Portals

Post a cover that depicts some sort of portal/gateway to another dimension, realm, time, universe....etc.

    Cover Contest Weekly Posted Rules:

Post one (and only one) cover that fits the theme of this week's contest.
Cover must be from a published comic book or collected volume.
Covers must be posted before voting begins.
Voting begins 12 AM Tuesday and runs until 12 AM Wednesday PST.
Vote by posting the name in bold of the poster whose cover best fits the theme or that you simply like the most. A vote need not be in bold, but it does make it easier to tally votes.
The winner of the contest is the entrant with the most votes after the voting period.
It's okay to discuss the covers but if you think someone's entry doesn't fit the theme or violates the rules, you don't need to argue it in the thread, simply don't vote for it.
Occasionally voting will result in a tie. The person who did the tally that week will usually call for a tie breaking vote from someone who has not yet voted.
Most importantly please remember that we're here to have fun. Enjoy!

    For example:

Always thought it was neat bit of comic trivia that Cyclops' beams come from another dimension.

    Cover and a mini rant:

    astro city.jpg

Astro City should be more popular than it is. In an era full of reboots, relaunches, and superheroes fighting each other, Astro City serves as a reminder of what superhero comics can be. It has great old school art, but it also has diverse characters as well, so a lot of people can enjoy it. It has progression, mantle passing, growth, all that good stuff, and Kurt Busiek does it without pissing off legions of fans. I always feel good after reading Astro City.

    Okay, rant over.
