Why does Miles even know what went on in CW1? Miles was in the Ultimate Universe at the time.
And why have Carol and Tony on the cover if Miles only hears one side, Tony's side, of the argument for and against the Precog?
Bendis has these wonderful opportunities to deal with serious matters but he just gives us stick figures in his writing. He could have filled in the bones of Miles' Dads negative profiling experiences, or, Miles' discomfort of people finding out Spiderman is someone of colour. (For that matter he could have made Rhodeys 5 issues in IIM more significant). But no. Missed opportunities.
Spoilers
Jessica Cage, private investigator, is easvesdropping on Miles and learns he's a super hero and Avenger. Teenage stuff goes on in their dorm room. Miles Dad tells his wife to stop Alias investigating Miles, so she tries to pay off Jess, but no deal, but Miles Mum starts crying that Jess has learnt a dark secret about Miles. Iron Man calls Miles, and it's like talking to a high school kid. Miles has no idea what Tony is talking about, and Tony gets frustrated and leaves.
End of Spoilers
This drags on and feels like pulling teeth. If only Bendis tried to elaborate on the juicy bits. The way this kid, Miles, goes about his life, not taking care of his secret identity, not taking interest in Avengers stuff, he is going to have all his family kidnapped by some bad guy and his identity will be X posed and he won't be able to stay in school anymore. Miles just doesn't get it that he is putting people in serious danger here. He is drifting through life like a normal teenager, when being Spiderman is serious business in the MU. It's all going to come tumbling down around him. Miles is not getting the support he needs from Peter Parker maybe, to keep him safe.
