One of my favourite things from classic DC are the 'mayfly' hero's. The pseudo identities and floating identities.

The 'new' hero's who showed up for a day, and for whatever reason turned out not to be what we thought they were. Dial 'H' for hero, and all those stories where Lois Lane and Jimmy Olson became hero's for the day.

People often complain about given classic identities to new hero's to create more diverse hero. Surely this is the area to look to do that...!

Oberon Sexton wasn't a superhero. If it is just "People who weren't who they seemed in Gotham City" then, well, it would be a much longer list. Hell, the Joker alone would be more than a few (like that magician from Dini's Detective run).

Ah, some sweet Golden Age insanity ... In this age of doom and gloom, it feels good just reading these hilariously convoluted recaps ...
And Jim Gordon dressing up as a super-hero to defy orders ? That's probably the wackiest of them all, if you think about it ( at least his brief stint as Batman was police-sanctioned, which makes instantly more sense for him ) !
